I do agree with you that out of the plastic box the Hachette are not as good, but most of the details are better on the diecast's. Re worked the Hachette models will look better that the Marui kits overall. The wheels/tires and almost everything else is better. The F2007 is not Hachett's best F1 model. After getting it the suspension was rather thick and it just is not the best model in the series. All require reworking to make top quality models. The best so far are the BT46 and Lotus 79.

The Mclaren M23 Hachette in 1/24th scale is out and it looks better than the Tokyo Marui kit in almost every respect. I also looked over the Hachette 312T2 and even though it is not the same car as the Tokyo Marui 312T can say it is also better in almost every detail. I have all the Marui kits and they do have nice bodies but everything else is not very great including the decals. If you want the Hachette models to be top quality models you will have to add details but even the paint is very good as are the decal and graphics applications.

For sure the wheels are better on the Hachette models than even the Wave cast metal wheels, although the Wave kits have nice resin, but very thick bodies.

I don't care who or what you call the model, diecast, kit, slot car, resin kit.. I only care about wich one is the best model. Almost all the new Hachette "diecast" models are trumping the old 1/24th F1 kits as being the best available. These are a gift to 1/24th scale collectors, let's not kid ourselves. I love Hachette!!!

    Happy Holidays

By the way, I see alot of people are dumping the Marui 1/24th F1 kits on ebay all of a sudden. I think they have figured it out.

My latest addition to the 1/24 WRC collection 1985 Renault 5 Maxi turbo – Jean Ragnotti’s Tour de Corse winner (issue # 49)

Developed from the former R 5 turbo, it received a new front suspension with wider track, wider tyres, a bigger engine with modifications to avoid the turbo lag, a larger roof spoiler and front spoiler with integrated head lamps. Horsepower rose from 260 to 365 hp (official numbers), in reality it was closer to 400 hp. But 4WD was on a roll, the RWD Renault was only strong on tarmac – mainly on home ground: its ONLY win in the world championship came at the Tour de Corse 1985 in the hands of Jean Ragnotti (again – who else?). In the following year, Francois Chatriot became 2nd there. That was it for the R 5 turbo, which was campaigned mainly in French events.

On to the model: very nice detailed, correct proportions and decals – only the “Rothmans” logo is missing above the starting number – 9/10 pts.

So I took the Hachette 1/24th Mclaren M23 1974 champion car apart. Surprised to find the engine induction and more cockpit detail never to be seen as it's not supposed to come apart. This is a very good model, better than the Tokyo Marui kit.

They did the Italian GP 2nd place M23 but without Marlboro due to EU laws. The red is wrong as the real car was more red than dayglo neon red. That will have to be corrected and the tobacco markings added along with other details.

Next three Hachette F1 1/24th models up, all much needed to fill gaps in the F1 champion collection!!! The Alfa 158 other than the wire wheel spokes looks very nice as I hoped it would. Just bumped the old Western models 1/24th Alfa 158 from my collection. I will use FPPM wire wheels to make it very respectable. They did move the release date 1 week and flipped the Alfa and Williams around.

I hope they supply the John Player decals for the Lotus 72 like they did for the Lotus 79 in a separate bag.

    Thank you Hachette.

I really hope they do the Brabham 1966 and 1967 champion cars. Also the Lotus 25 and 33 as the Wills Finecast models are just ok. FPPM already did a nice Matra so it is to bad they did it again. Maybe it has some improvements but I like Fernando's Matra.

    FPPM did the 1956, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1964 and 1969 cars. He is working on the 1954 and 1955 W196's now in 1/24th scale.

I have it already and the shape looks pretty good. Kind of simple plus everything opens so big door outline gap lines. I think I will buy the resin Alpha Model Hobby Design 1/24th kit also.

It is pretty much what I expected from Bburago.

I love Roma - for me this is the prettiest Ferrari in decades.
So have I ordered two pieces - one for my office and one for my collection at home.
One has tiny scratch on rear window, and the other has slightly bend hood - it is a fraction of milimeter, but still it is annoying.
But I gues this is typicall Bburago quality...

If you order from China, everything will open, and the doors will have windows. If you buy in Europe from official distributor - only doors will open and they won't have windows. But in Europe you can order also red one.

I'd love to get this one.
When they were avaliable on ebay I still wasn't sure if I want to collect this 1/24 WRC's...
Now they are gone - single offers appear, and the prices are crazy....

Better quality 1/24th Alfa Romeo 158 preview. Other than the wires on the wheels everything looks very accurate and nicely done. Some detail will be added along with new wires for the wheels from FPPM.

Yes the world seems to be aware of the Hachette releases no matter what country they are sold in. If you wait you will have a hard time finding them as they are limited releases.
