I wish they'd go back to the type of red used in the early 2000s....Rosso Scuderia with quite a lot of orange in the right light.

Anything but Matt. Some say it has aero advantages, but if you are depending on a paint finish you might need new engineers.

They claim to do it for weight savings. Trend was started by Red Bull if I’m not mistaken.

I loved the shiny dark blood red they used on the anniversary model for one race. And yes, no more matt.

Most F1 cars are ballasted to meet the minimum weight requirement.

I can't see why they would need to save weight on paint.

Because it gives them more latitude to distribute the weight.

Since the paint is distributed all over the car, I cannot see how the adoption of matt "gives more help to distribute the weight" [sic] .

Honestly, then you must have no idea how racecar setup is done.

I do, I do. but you won't sell me the idea that you can alter the weight distribution on a car by changing the paint.

    It's pretty simple.

    If non-Matte paint weights 10kg
And matte paint weighs 5 kg

That gives an extra 5 kg of weight to place in a more advantageous position.

It's not *that* difficult to understand.
