Hey guys, I am very interested in looking a 355 in the Redando Beach area. The seller is selling the car in a fairly unorthodox way; so I’m a little hesitant to go look at it 2000 miles away b/c he’s non committal on selling it in a traditional fashion (best offer, etc). Does anyone know of a chat member that would be willing to go look at the car for a “visual inspection” & maybe briefly speak to the owner of the shop about the car. The car is technically in Redando Beach, CA at “Fast Cars,” Craig. I would be willing to pay for someone to help me with this; especially if you have a relationship with Fast Cars. Thanks very much in advance. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Who owns the 355? Small group here in this area. Is it his yellow 355? BTW Craig is a very good dude for sure.
The car is apparently owned by a guy in El Paso Texas who shipped the car to Fast Cars for a Major prior to selling. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
If fast cars did an engine out they would know the exact condition. Like I said Craig's one of the best. I've know him quite a while he Live's few blocks from me. I always look at cars before buying them but don't like to look at them for others for obvious reasons.
I’m awaiting a call from him Monday with hopes that he’ll be willing to answer the questions that are unknown from the owner. I would be flying there personally if I had certain assurances from the seller. It’s unusual situation to say the least. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You can trust Craig I used him for 10 years when my car was in California He will tell you all he can and nothing more or less Enough said
Just saw the car the other day while at Fast Cars, my 355 is there for service (Best shop around) ...i've talked to that seller a few months ago when i was looking for a 355 seller sure is a strange guy. Socal you're here in LB ? havn't seen your 355 around, i'm in belmont shore
I’ve received a monstrous amount of support from many of you through PM. I appreciate the community greatly. Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Nice, right down the street Mostly track driving. I have 2 355 challenges and a 348 challenge that I do occasionally drive on the street.
If I were to recommend any shop for a ppi in southern CA it’d be FastCars. I understand the wrinkle in them representing this particular car in sale but it sounds like it’s not their car so I’d probably just have Craig sign off on an inspection and go from there. They’ve serviced a number of my cars and assisted with everything from service and ppis to preparing a car for rally and I wouldn’t hesitate to trust what they tell me about a car they’re representing.
I never installed it, in my pile of parts LOL. I made an adjustable super trapp setup. Need to be able to adjust sound levels at different tracks
Update: I spoke to Craig (he’s wonderful as you all previously stated). I have a very good idea of what this particular car is now & am grateful for the assistance from all. You’ve saved me tens of thousands of dollars & indefinite headaches so I appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
It’s the 3k mike black 355 GTS F1 on autotrader classics. I’m out entirely, but I would be very very careful as I have seen the exhaustive lists of its service needs. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’ve corresponded with the owner of that car and he is very dodgy, I would not even consider that car after speaking with him, delusional and evasive, sounded like he knew nothing about the car or possibly found it abandoned in a storage unit, would barely divulge any info and tried to claim he had offers over his asking but is waiting for higher offers lol .
You have summed it up. The owner is trying to create an auction via an autotrader classic ad. Has lied constantly & the only sign of this car having 3k miles is the odometer. The car won’t even start for gods sake (bad gas/fuel pump). 18 y/o tires & has NEVER been serviced. EVER. A very respected member of the forum went by & said that it’s absolutely filthy. The list of repairs is extensive (beyond the major). Sticky buttons & $$$$$. It may be worth $70’s. Maybe Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The list of “necessary” repairs is extensive. I mean HUGE. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
