    Bizarre you should mention these, we had a DAF 44 and a 33 when I was a kid, it was one of the quite rare small automatic car options my mum could drive at the time [emoji16]
    All I remember is they sounded like no other car I’ve been in [emoji12]

    Well snap on that one. My Mum had a DAF 33 and 44 as well. I think for the same reason, so she didn't have to deal with gearshifts:D I remember one off them she slid slowly off an icy road at around 20kmh and went into a wall. The entire front end of the car disintegrated, and broke into hundreds of pieces of fibreglass. You wouldn't have wanted to be in a serious accident in one. But then again, they couldn't go much faster than 20kmh :D

    I'll give this a go, in no particular order

    1) Renault Alpine 310 GT - very underrated rear-engined French 911 - remember the silver car Bob Murray tested in SCW? I do.
    2) Renault 5 Turbo - mid-engined pocket pocket. Ultimate city car for me. Shame BMW never built the z13.
    3) Citroen SM - just plain weird in a space age kinda of way and just look at that gear lever gate.
    4) Ligier JS2 - More French eccentricity. It was toss up between this and a Matra Bagheera or Murena (there's even one on car sales). I went for the Ligier as I always liked the F1 team.
    5) Aston Martin Lagonda - very robust mechanically and ruggedly built chassis. Ok, the electronics in the dash leave something to be desired.
    6) Bitter CD coupe - Opel in a nice suit. I love the SC coupe and sedan very much.
    7) Bitter SC Coupe/Sedan - Fook it. Lucky seven. I even love the leather trimmed VH Commodore interiors in them. Looks like a german Klink mobile.
