Carmellini, here’s a picture of my spring, removed from the lid on one I have that’s in need of repair. It appears that the top portion of yours has snapped off. The protrusion on the spring snaps into the retainer slot to keep it in place.

I might suggest some construction adhesive on the top of the spring, then slide it into the retainer. It appears you have enough lip for the spring to still work, it just needs to be held in place.

^^^^ah ha......that's what I thought. Thank you, Mike.

The spring is not a separate part; not in parts manual.

    Does anyone have one?

Check with Dave Lelonek, Sticky RX Refinishing Solutions, (716) 539-0200. He might have some, or have a solution/source.

Mix up some epoxy and slide it back into place. Ferrari does not sell the lid or clip separate. I have a bunch of good lids here if you wish to buy a lid with the clip attached. Send me a PM

Thanks to Dave from Sticky Rx, I have a replacement spring on the way! Really didn't want to epoxy that broken spring
    onto an otherwise perfect ashtray.

    Thanks.

    Dave Rocks!

I have a complete lid with spring that needs to be painted as it was part of my restoration and decided to buy a new ash tray instead
