Don't feel bad. Moretti forgets mine every year. Which means he forgets his own son's (unless I remind him, which I've done more than once. Hopeless).
It was our favourite drummers Birthday yesterday. Nick Mason turned 78. I've linked a clip of the band back together for the Live 8 concert in 2006. If you watch you'll see Nick ditch his headphones just before the first solo, as if to hear to the band for the last time with his own ears. And it would be the last time as Rick Wright passed away not long after the concert. This is just one song, the set is great if you ever want to hear it, they really show the crowd that the old fellas know how to rock!!
I was in grade 12 and sadly missed it. I remember listening to the simulcast on Fm104. One of my life’s biggest regrets
Of their genre absolutely. With respect to anyone whom says "this is the best" whatever it may be,it/they may well be in their field or genre. Just sayin'.. A little like Moretti and meself reckon Black Jack was the best F1 bloke. Or in my point of view,Chuck Berry was the worlds best rock and roller.
That sux man! My friend Danny has a similar regret in life. He LOVES the band Pantera. They last toured Australia in May 2001 and my mate Danny could have gone to their concert in Brisbane, but he was studying for Uni exams and he never went to the show. His Brother got them both tickets but Danny never went because he wanted to study. I told that pecker head that it's a 2hr concert on a Wednesday night, just go to it and enjoy as they may not tour Australia again for another 20 years and he may miss out. He's never seen them play live before. Danny didn't make the concert and he regrets it to this day. Pantera would go there separate ways in late 2001 and they would break up in 2003. Guitarist from Pantera Dimebag Darrell would be murdered in late 2004. He was one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Small world story right here............... Danny told me around 2 years ago that he was working with a Doctor in Brisbane, making small talk while performing a hip replacement on a patient. Well, the other Doctor helping Danny asked if he had any regrets in life and Danny mentioned not going to that Pantera concert back in May 2001 was his biggest regret in life. The other Doctor said HOT DAMN!! He went to that show and it was the greatest night of his life lol. He went to that concert at the Brisbane Festival Hall and after the show, he ended up at the Down Under Bar for drinks and guess who's already there!!! Pantera! He ended up drinking VB's with those boys (they loved VB and drank everyone under the table apparently lol) and they ended up at the 24hr Hungry Jacks in the Queen Street mall at 4am, drunk, eating Hungry Jacks burgers lol. The Doctor took a camera to the show and took some photos and brought in those ****ty photos a few days later to show Danny. The concert photos were crap, but the selfies of this Doc drinking with those guys were pretty good lol. Of course Danny felt like a bigger piece of **** for not going to that show back in 2001 lol, but that's life.
Oh wow, now that's some story, poor bastard!! Talk about rubbing it in lol I also missed out on seeing Gilmour live in Verona Italy. I said jokingly one day to my brother we should hop on a plane and go see him. Well he went and bought 4 tickets, 3 for his lot and 1 for me. He ended up going and making a holiday out of it. I just couldnt afford to as I'd just spent $70k on a pool. His hotel was right next to the arena, which was an old coliseum style venue. He sent me videos of the sound check showing the terracotta roof tiles on his hotel vibrating. He gave me my ticket on my 50th
Lol, **** that pool! lol. My Mrs wants a pool, told her to wake up to herself! You should have just racked up $10K worth of credit card debt or whatever and went with him mate. I've been saying this for the last 20+ years......................"you only live once" So buy what you want and do whatever you want in life because no one is promised tomorrow.
So why on earth are you still spending 2/3 of your life underground in the middle of nowhere! With your skills you could turn up anywhere and get a job.
Because like many people, he gets more enjoyment out of complaining. In my long life I've discovered more people would rather complain about something rather than fix a problem which actually takes a decision and effort. Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
