Garoppolo choked, not the team. They held the Rams to 20 points. Garoppolo had receivers open that he couldn't hit (as usual). And threw the game away at the end. What other QB, at that level, in that game, can't lead their team down for a FG? Only 1, Garoppolo
I'm happy for Stafford, he never quit on the Lions like Barry Sanders and Megatron did. I am rooting for him to finally win a Superbowl, and tie Favre and Rodgers with 1 SB
It really is a shame that the one guy who gets paid the most, $28 million, has the ball with 2 minutes left and can either win you the game or lose it. Everyone did their job except for that guy. Time to move on from Jimmy G, that experiment has failed. He will never deliver in a big game. He gets paid $28 million to throw it to his guys, but he throws it to the defense instead.
With about 5 minutes left you could see in the defense they were losing faith. The body language was pretty obvious. The team collapsed.
The Bengals vs the Rams at SOFI I wonder who will be the home team. Maybe finally Rams fans will show up instead of selling their tickets for cash.
The last pick went off the hands of the receiver. But, I think that was immaterial. As The Mayor suggested, the Niners looked shell shocked by that point...T
But even before that. How many times did he miss an open receiver. The series before that he had Jennings wide open 5 yards behind Ramsey, and instead he forced it to Ayuk who Ramsey was covering and almost INT'd. I used to say about Alex Smith that he will never lose you a game, but he will never win one for you either. Jimmy will never win you a game, AND he will lose you a game.
I found this hard to believe, but they said that only 2 QBs have won both a national collegiate title and a Super Bowl: Joe Namath and Joe Montana. Maybe Burrow could be the third Joe to do it?
As noted, abysmal QB play from Niners was going to cost them the win, and it did. Time and time again…Jimmy G. Too bad, I think Bengals would have been a great matchup and likely steamrolled for a win for Cincy.
Was at the game . It was very enjoyable Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Which means they were due. Just like when, ALMOST ever time an announcer says 'he's made his last 30 extra points in a row', and he then misses the very next attempt. Same with FG's it seems, too.
I'll be a little less rough on Garaoppolo knowing that he did spank the Packers in Green Bay last week. Watching Green Bay and Arrogant Rodgers lose at home is priceless.
Don't be easy on anyone. This is the NFL, pro sports, not pop Warner, He gets paid $28 million to deliver, and he hasn't earned his pay. And, he didn't beat Rodgers last week, the rest of the team did. They ran the ball on 3rd and 7 with the game on the line, what other team would ever do that? He gets 28 million yet the coach doesn't trust him to throw for a 1st down? Look at all the other teams, everyone of them would pass with their QB.
You were @ a Rams home game AND rooting for the Rams?!? I thought that was a statistical impossibility! T
