Fantastic! Enjoy it in good health.

And, you know, we don't appreciate slightly scruffy drivers enough. Keeping a car pristine takes a lot of time and mental energy. Knowing the car is imperfect lets you enjoy it without guilt!

Totally agree. I see guys jump into full nut and bolt restorations for years before even driving their cars.

It’s a car. I’m not going to paint this one. Interior is worn, quirks, creases, it’s all just part of the cars story. Maybe someday it’ll be shiny, but then, like you say, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it without guilt. My ‘99 has 226K miles. Runs like a Swiss watch. I drive it really hard.

That last part is the secret. Cars are happiest when driven. Every car I've ever owned ran better after a good drive or run on the track.

This x1000. My other daily (and secretly my favorite car out of the bunch) is an 01 W210 E55 that was in nowhere near the best condition when I first got it. But I drove it everywhere and fixed and upgraded things as needed over the years. 20 years of life and it feels like it's just getting faster and better to drive as time goes on. I love these old Benzes and M cars, so much character.

Dumb question - for a car that old do you have to go through an annual state/local inspection!!? Assuming your locale has such. Thanks...T

    1st - Daily driver is a 2012 Raptor - whipple supercharged - 600HP
2nd - Pride and Joy is my 1969 R code Mach 1. Also 600HP + 150 shot of nitrous, TKO 600. Scary car at times but fun as hell.
3rd - car is my wife's Jag F-Type. Pretty much the base model with the supercharged 6.
4th - not pictured is a 68 Mustang convertible I'm restoring for my wife.

    Thank you, appreciated!
I agree, thank you. I looked and waited awhile before I was able to snag one from a dealer. They’re typically gone within hours of hitting the showroom floor.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to purchase one from a close friend with only a couple hundred miles on it. I kick myself at times for not doing it.

how do you like the Piper Saratoga? I’m going to finish my private pilots license in June/July and that’s the plane I’m thinking of buying.
