Ok. I just want to know how good Henk's samples match our cars. Might want to ask him about stitching too.

Forgot we were only discussing sport seats. Doubt there’s a kit for that.

Here was a excerpt from a 2019 email from Henk on pricing. He also looked up my chassis number to get a match for one of 6 different Connelly “tan” colors

Leather hide and Production costs are:

    1-4 hides 174,50 euro p/m² x ± 5,25 m² = ±€ 916, - per hide Total for 4 hides : ±€ 3.664,-

    5-7 hides 156,50 euro p/m² x ± 5,25 m² = ±€ 821,60 per hide Total for 5 hides : ±€ 4108,-

    8-11 hides 151,00 euro p/m² x ± 5,25 m² = ±€ 792,75 per hide Total for 8 hides : ±€ 6342,-

    12-15 hides 147,50 euro p/m² x ± 5,25 m² = ±€ 774, - per hide Total for 12 hides : ±€ 9288,-

    16-19 hides 145,00 euro p/m² x ± 5,25 m² = ±€ 771,75 per hide Total for 16 hides : ±€ 12,348,-

Making tests to manufacture special colours do cost € 350, - to make all try outs and cleanings plus lost hide parts per order. Making common colours will not be charged extra. Most hides are common colours. But specials will need extra attention.

My plan was to get a sample front Henk. If I feel it’s good enough, I would send off my seat center to Justin Placek in Germany and have him order a hide directly from Henk.

Then wait for results :). If they’re good, then he can at least offer centers to those who have the seats and need replacing. Just doing little by little.

Justin could even do alcantara/suede centers, but I would still like the thigh padding to be in matching black Connolly leather.

Looks kinda like a concept 355 image. Red shoulder patch on seats looks to be stuck on. No cavallino on headrest.

I have been following him on IG for a coupe years does amazing work. But he is in Germany. There is also a extremely talented gentleman named Sid chavers up in Northern California who does excellent work for 200k and up street rods. And vintage porsche cars. Many good options out there.

@ShineKen is there a plan to reproduce the seat including the frame/backing or just looking at recovering?

I Think there's a person who is looking for making a copy.
    He's from Stradale car automobile.
He would like some people to invest about his project.
10 customers seem to be enough for beginning something..

The way I’m looking at it is, unless an exact leather match can be found, the chances of ever having these created is not good. Why? Because it’s an expensive project, which means the final product is likely to be expensive. Just the upholstery work alone by someone of Justin’s caliber is estimated to be roughly $3500 per seat (his estimate) and that will also depend on cost of leather or material choice (alcantara, suede) etc.

If the final product is going to be pricey and the leather/stitching doesn’t match the interior of the car at least 90%, not many are going to buy the product. Lots of time an effort will be wasted, not to mention one has to sacrifice a seat. What I mean by sacrificing a seat is one has to unstitch the upholstery work to get the patterns. In the process, a leather piece could suffer from cracking as Justin explains and it is not guaranteed the same pieces can be re-used to put it all back together. Then there’s the cost to put it all back together, not to mention the risk of what the end result will be. Someone needs to risk taking apart a seat from a set worth $20k and risk ruining their matching set. Any volunteers :)?

My driver’s side seat cushion isn’t in the greatest condition as it has been sat on for 30k mi. I’m willing to risk re-doing those and only if someone of Justin’s caliber touches it. Figured if someone is going to take it apart, patterns could be made and saved in process, so replacement cushions at the very least could be offered to those who already have the seats. It’s also a test to see how Justin’s work looks and how acceptable the leather match or final product is. Once that is established, we can then access the possibility to the rest of the seat being done.

My passenger side seat is perfect. No way I would let anyone take any of it apart. Not even Justin or even the original Ferrari factory trimmer :).
