Try a steam cleaner with it in place to see if it will shrink the material. Only thing that ever defeated me on a ferrari was the sunroof, i could never get it to work.

I loath mine. Would kill to have a sunroof less coupe. Mine hangs like that too. I had a horrible rattle in my roof which I fixed now I’m never touching that thing again.
I’ve even considered buying a headliner from a non sunroof car and covering the thing up.

My sunroof fabric does the exact same thing. I hate it but I'm not touching it. Anything you try to do will make it worse.

There is a strip of Spandex across the rear end tensioning the fabric:

The length and angle between the front and the rear of the sunroof changes between closed and open positions.
The chosen solution guarantees that the fabric is tensioned AND parallel to the headliner when the roof is closed.

The only solution for you is to remove the sunroof panel and replace the Spandex strip that has lost its elasticity - this is how much you need nom tensioned:

There is no possibility to access the panel from the inside of the car: Image Unavailable, Please Login
    Good luck!

It won't fit, the standard roof cars have a more headroom - the headliner doesn't need to cover the sunroof casing. You could however just close the hole up on your own headliner with fibreglass and retrim it.

    Bad memories indeed.

I was going to write up how to remove it and address it but decided to spare him that level of mental anguish.

Well… Challenges are there to be defeated?
I would however appreciate a write-up on the disassembly. So far my sunroof works „knock on wood“ but I certainly may need to address it somewhen…

Many thanks for the info on the spandex-section @afterburner !

Go into the trunk and find the end of the cable guide tube. Remove the cap that closes it off. Put heavy tape like duct tape down each side of the roof panel full length right up to each edge. Run the roof all the way back, as far as it will go. Remove the chrome or stainless strips on the channel the roof guides ride in. That will uncover an empty space in each track. By hand pull the roof panel forward with a friend on the other side of the car. When the front guide pieces get to the opening in the track lift forward edge up and out of the track. continue pulling forward being careful not to drag the sunroof panel against the bottom of the fixed part of the roof. Thats why the tape is there. Keep going forward until the rear guides come to the opening in the track and lift the panel out. It has been years sice I did this so proceed with caution and if you run into trouble stop and ask. I may have forgotten a step and someone here will know.

It’s actually not difficult to remove. But the tape part rifle mentions is SO important. I did put masking tape and I still got a chip in the paint on both sides of my sun roof. So make sure that piece of crap has like 3 layers of tape on it.
