    Good day Daren,

There tends to be quite a range in asking prices which varies between North America and Europe. Using Mobile.de as a basic guide (a basic Europe market view), one finds the following Data:

    365 GT4 2+2 Series
    - 2 Offered
    - Asking Price Range: 89K Euro ($101 K USD) to 155K Euro ($140.7K USD)

    400 Series
    - 18 Offered
    - Asking Price Range: 46.5K Euro ($52.8K USD) to 123.86K Euro ($176.1K USD)

    412 Series
    - 13 Offered
    - Asking Price Range: 65.2K Euro ($74K USD) to 125K Euro ($142 K USD)

Reviewing the above one can see that there are not a lot of cars offered and so prices can be a bit skewed because of the same sample sets. Although the asking price ranges are quite significant, one really does not know what price the car(s) sold for...or how long the cars are on the market. Regardless, I think that the days of buying reasonable drive level cars around the $40K mark, etc are gone and one will need to spend at least $10K to $30K+ more for a solid driver (with needs) and a lot more for cars that have been fully or partially restored.

    Cheers,

    Sam

These are wonderful cars and make great sounds. Who doesn't love a Ferrari V12 at 6,000rpm?
What a lot of people don't seem to get is that a restored (engine work, paint, suspension, etc.) car is worth over $100k because that is what you will be buying into if you pick up a $40k car with "needs." A rust free, well maintained example should get $80-100k all day in the US or overseas imho.

That is a very nice car. If the car sold for that amount, would it be a record high?

(I'd love to repaint mine and take the US side markers off and install the smaller Euro bumpers.)

It wouldn’t be a record high, as if my memory serves me correctly, didn’t Keith Richards’ car sell for about GBP 250k at auction a year or so back?

If you did repaint it (and chose Prugna), removed the US side lights and fitted Euro bumpers, you’d end up with a car looking like mine!

    Good day Larry,

Thank you too for posting the link with info! The cars look somewhat tired... and why are the interiors speckled with staining? Very odd. It will be interesting to see what the cars sell for.

I created a dedicated thread on the 365 (Chassis 18813) and will do the same for the 400i (chassis 49477) tomorrow.

    Cheers,

    Sam

You have big bumpers on yours? Most in the US I see still have the original bumpers on them.

Yes, they extend out a few inches farther than the European cars. While I don't love them, they are in great shape, and I've never see the thinner ones for sale.

Haven't looked in a long time. Are US 5-speeds now $100k cars? Yikes!

I don't think the average car would fetch $100k at this point. From what I can tell, about $80k for a nice, original, 5-speed car is about right. With extensive service, good colors, no rust, maybe an engine out/rebuild could get over $100k.
What do others think? I update my agreed value with the insurance company annually and would like to know what to suggest to them.

Even though the 365 was a bit rough, I thought it would have fetched more. The 5 speed and knock-off wheels did it for me. They should have cleaned up the interior stains on the carpeting etc. Geez, there is mud on the pedals.

I am sure it would have been better bid for on BaT or even eBay.
