So regarding dealerships and second hand cars in general, if a cars on consignment the dealership legally shares no financial responsibility whatsoever for any mechanical failure on that vehicle sold from their premises ?

He's got a very good case in NCAT if he wants to go that far. Even though it's consigned, the dealer is bound by Australian Consumer Law.
There are plenty of mad ****s out there that have done it JM lol. They have bigger balls than me, I wince when I think of that transaxle copping all that abuse.
