No but situation is worsening in Europe with sports. Uneducated and uncivilized people are now a threat because of this kind of social network bashing ( I’m not talking about your post of course) No kidding unfortunately.
I admit I wasn't aware of any physical threats to Masi or his family. I believe you if you say there is. I wholeheartedly reject that sort of discourse. That sort of talk has no place in society. Again, let me clarify for the record, when I say Hamilton wants to harm Masi, it is meant purely on professional grounds. (not physical.) On the flip side, I wholeheartedly see no issue with verbal criticism (barring harassment.) Hope this clarifies my position. Kind regards.
We are in complete agreement. If my words were seen in any way alluding to Hamilton literally seeking to harm Masi, that was not my intention. "head on a pike" is an English idiom that some might not be familiar with. I do understand in today's world, some phrases may be taken literally. Hope this clarifies my statement.
Not all of this is new, some might forget that before going to ferrari, Prost needed security in Monza, i think it was back in 85 when he was figthing Alboreto for the title, and if many still remenber racist coments made against elton in Spain by Alonso fans, some might have forgotten the insults at Silverstone (or brand hatch?) in the early 80s against french drivers and french in general by british fans...or Alan Jones comments on the french...those would have been unexceptable today! And remenber Massa helped people from Toyota to leave the interlagos circuit after that Glock blunder!
Kind of an absurd world we live in these days. Adults need to go back to acting like adults, not children with mortgages.
What hate after Silverstone did Hamilton receive? Sure, he was criticized and his sportsmanship was questioned when he celebrated a victory, after from causing one of the highest speed accidents in a number of years, but what hate did he receive? Who threatened his life and family, like what Masi and Latifi have had? Hamilton indeed has dealt with racism. When Brazilian fans heckled him and his father after Massa lost in 07', and Glock had his life threatened, Massa, Ferrari, and the entire paddock took a stand against the disgusting harassment, and vile racism, as was damn well called for. Lewis is well aware of the online harassment against Masi and Latifi, and I'm sure by now he's heard of the death threats against them and their families. Where is he? What kind of driver is ok with so many of their fans behaving like this? He could calm this all with one social media post to respect that the results and move on to next season. But he hasn't, which speaks volumes about his concern.
Frankly, Hamilton's father showed class in defeat, and appeared to restrain his son from doing something stupid in front of the press. You could see Lewis wanted to rage in front of the microphone, but his father warned him not to. Why would ANY person want the job of any race official position in F1 after this? A truly chilling message has been sent. If a driver has a big enough celebrity status and following, they can provoke their fanbase army to harass an official and their family, should a ruling effect them negatively on the track. After this, officials will absolutely begin thinking about who's mob is bigger as a factor in their officiating. Hamilton is truly the worst sore loser F1 has ever seen. As bad as Senna and Schumi's dirty title deciding shunts.
Hamilton lost the championship 7 times in his career. Why did you wait untill this time to determine that he is the worst loser? Masi designed the atmosphere that F1 is in right now. But its all Hamilton's fault. Some how some way, we must blame Hamilton.
Hamilton has gone into season finale title deciders 5 times in his career. In 3 them he walked away a very sore loser. He's implied conspiracies took both the 2007 and 2016 titles away from him, stirring the hornets nest that is his fan base. He showed everyone how desperate he's willing to get, when he defied team orders, and used cheap trickery that bordered on Schumism in Abu Dhabi 16', when he tried to back his teammate Rosberg into an incident. Lewis is not some eternal victim. I'm sick of him being treated like one. Not everyone is out to get poor Lewis $260 million and 7X champion WDC Hamilton. He has zero grace even with all his talent.
E Hello Kimi the keyboard warrior, even if that is the case, but which in fact it is just your mere opinion. Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.
None of what you say reflect Hamilton today. With the absolute grace he showed in Abu Dhabi, I would gladly welcome him into my home for dinner.
Grace? He yelled over the radio that everything was rigged against him, gave the most begrudging congratulations to Max, then left the track in a hissy fit, where he's tried to steal and taint Max's title through political means ever since then. Yeah, he's as sore a loser as I've ever seen motorsports.
Very compelling rebuttal. The intellectual depth of the apologetics from Hamilton's strongest supporters have for his disgraceful sore loser behavior is shallow.
And you don't even have an argument at all, denigrating a positive assertion with an ad hominem attack. How in any way would his actions post race in Abu Dhabi be described as shallow?
Don't forget that immediately after he's not showed up to any of the title ceremonies, unfollowed everyone on his instagram & stopped using social media altogether, allowed himself to be used as a pawn in order to get Masi & bizarelly, Tombazis, fired (the latter I guess for suggesting a set of rule changes for 2021 that all teams unanimously voted for, but when Red Bull appeared quite fast Mercedes claimed that they where intentionally slowed down?). Yes, this was about as graceful as a sumo wrestler doing ice dancing. Full credit to Lewis how he handled himself when he got out the car. Apart from that...yeah no.
Disagree. His interview afterwards was very begrudging, especially how fast he went to the "we'll see about next year" garbage. The whole Mercedes team acted as disgraceful in defeat as I've seen in motorsports. Refusing to shake any hand at RBR as the mechanics were reaching out to them after the race, Hamilton stomping off after the race refusing to do interviews, then unfollowing everyone on social media, and of course, Toto refusing to come out of his motorhome for a handshake and drink with Horner and accept the peace offering that was being extended to the team was the icing on the cake It was like watching a kid pout after losing at Mario Kart. Only it was grown men.
Ah I didn't see that...was watching on F1 TV and was celebrating myself, I was only commenting on the reaction of Lewis after he got out the car, handshake with Max and Jos/Max talking with Anthony Hamilton
I am curious, as I don’t agree with your version of events, but I want some clarification. How, in your honest opinion, should Hamilton have acted in each of the points you describe?
Um, go to the press room and suck it up. Get on Instagram and say "we had a good season, but it wasn't meant to be. Congrats to Max! See you all next year!" Easy ABC stuff that every other driver but him apparently knows how to do.
