Your light mount is broken. There used to be someone who sold a replacement set. You can also try wrapping with twine and pushing it back in.
Friction fit. Put a couple wraps of electrical tape around the body and push it back in. Wouldn’t go more than two or the next time you need to remove it it will be a fight to get it out. Ask me how I know.
I've had success in similar instances using 3M Command Poster Hanging Strips (not the Velcro style) and putting on the back of the light bezel, or a very small amount of earthquake putty. Craig
Have you figured out a way of removing them without breaking them? (I have a growing list of things I want to do when I remove my instrument cluster.)
I bought a few new ones and promptly broke them when needing access again. Those things, especially new ones, are so Phucking tight to remove they always break. electrical tape for me.
I am told dental floss works well but how often are we removing them? By the time I get to them they are all broken so I get more. Life is too short to be playing with tape etc. For less money I can get new ones. For our car I have had it out once in more than ten years. Why waste time trying to make broken parts work.
I got new Bezels I molded in my company the are made from Delrin and do not breake, contact me at [email protected] Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes that is me I moulded 3000of them sold a few hundred the trick is to take the panel out and round of the sharp edges on the back of each round hole so the snap in legs don’t dig in when you remove them
Sorry for the newbie question, but when these indicator lamps burn out can you just replace the bulbs or do you have to replace each whole assembly (bezel, jewel and bulb)?
They are two-piece. So you can just pull them apart and change the bulb. It doesn’t take much to break the plastic ears off the OEM units when removing them.
Just a reminder take the sharp corner of the holes on the back side and you never break a bezel again taking them out the OEM ones are ABS not very strong and 30 years of UV makes them very brittle
Just an update I mailed all the orders this morning and the US postal service changed the rules if its no letter mail anymore it must be small package mail so the cost is $10.15 depending on weight .so Bezels are $5.00 US each postage $11.00 Cheers
Can these be changed from the front (without removing the instrument plate?). I’ve got a few loose ones, but I don’t want to have to pull the instrument plate to replace them.
