Don’t know it but looks to be a well optioned car. I don’t own one anymore but they are fantastic cars.

Seems priced low, even for the miles. This is a red flag for me. Dealers know what the market prices are nationwide and when they price it to move, I wonder why. Another question is how this car went from a dealer in Texas to Illinois when the market in Texas is so strong right now. The title history is interesting but not surprising that there have been 6 owners with the miles on it. A lot of flipping, but maybe there is a reason why. I don’t know, the service history looked pretty normal as I quickly scrolled through it, but I may have missed something.

The color combo is really nice but there is a lot of Photoshop enhancement on the images. They look too good. I also don’t care for all the shiny **** they slathered on the interior. Driver zone carbon is always a nice option, as are the Daytona seats.

My thoughts too…on all points! Looks to be an upgraded leather? Was It TM or A? Took a week old 911 to car wash years ago and when I picked it up the interior was slathered in armor all. There were literally pools of it in the seat. I spent hours washing it down to remove it. It can be done but what a pain in the a

Missing front spoiler. Missing passenger side PF badge. Car shows prior repossession. 32k miles. Looks like paint coating for picture shine. Hard pass. Pay up for a nice one.

I would just walk away on this one, never seen an F12 without the front spoiler attached, that would send alarm bells to me.

To be fair on the front spoiler, these cars have a long hood and the sensor often does not go off for curbs. So it's real easy to smash into things. My car was specced with a non-carbon front spoiler but came with a carbon one. I figured they ran into something (or wanted an upgrade). I would check for frame damage and also check if a new spoiler can be easily attached (meaning there is no damage to the part you affix it to). I believe a new front lip is like $2k or $3k so just factor that in.

I would not worry about the mileage if the rest of the car specs out. The $228k seem high for a 32k mile car but I guess that is the market we are in.

The only no-go for me would be the interior leather scheme. It's too much of an eye sore. That is completely subjective so if you dig it go for it.

Note - my F12, was missing a grip on the leather vent, had dash shrinkage, was missing a left cup holder deal, and had a tail light that was loose. It was also somewhat in need of a detailing. I had fun over the couple months after I bought it tracking down everything and restoring it to its former glory. It might have cost $3k or so but I had that factored in. Those were also the days (last March) when a 6k mile 2014 F12 went for $200k and change...

Thanks to all who posted replies. Very helpful - and pretty much in line with my own thoughts on this car. Here's the few lines of chit chat via e-mail with the salesperson in response to a few of my queries and observations suggesting the car was overpriced by about 10-15% at $229K. My thinking was that for about 10% more in cost there are a variety of F12s around or under 10K miles, fewer owners, and far less colorful history without a repossession. I think I saw they paid $215K for the car to get it from Texas, so I don't think they have that much wiggle room on the price.

"This vehicle did not come with the original window sticker, we cannot pull it either, nor will Ferrari send us one. It does not have the performance screen for the passenger side. This vehicle did go through our service department and it does not have any modifications."

"We have and do carry Ferrari's but they do not supply window stickers to other dealers. It is a 2014 so it will have some ownership. Not sure how you are getting to sub 200k range but if the market changes and the price does drop I will let you know."

I particularly enjoyed the phrase "some ownership". Indeed. I prefer more straightforward provenance and less uncertainty.

And yes, the used car market is running hot these days, but not that long ago this car would have been under $200K. I'm not in a hurry and still enjoying my 2001 550 Maranello that I bought a decade ago. These days the F12 offerings are like waiting at the bus stop: hang around for a bit and eventually the right one will come along. :)

I’d stay away from just about any car from non factory dealers. More often than not there are problems associated with them. Many horror stories both from my own experience and other people that I know and this is not limited to Ferrari. I’m sure there are exceptions but the odds are not in your favor when you buy from non factory dealers especially for cars with that many miles.

There is a 2016 F12 currently for sale at Ferrari of San Antonio with 35k miles and certified for $259k. Price is a bit high and it’s not a high spec but the fact that Ferrari is certifying the car tells you a lot. Very clean and I bet you could get it for under $250

Do you think the car will be worth even more money after having revealed this notorious history? Hahahahaha...

"In a plea deal struck with the government on April 19, Houser acknowledged that he and Mesika obtained synthetic steroid compounds from China and Hong Kong and used them to manufacture body-building supplements for at least 18 months.

The plea acknowledges that two of those supplements contained Methasterone, a particularly potent designer steroid that has been classified as a controlled substance, as well as a "slightly adjusted" similar compound. Neither of the supplements — one called Mutant Plexx, the other Mass Destruction — listed the illegal substances on their labels. Moreover, the government contends, Mass Destruction "resulted in serious bodily injury and death."

    Holy crap!

I appreciate your post but that’s a bit unfair of a generalization. Granted, there are horror stories out there but there are a great number of positive ones too. Due diligence, like heartman is doing, makes all the difference. I bought my F12 from a boutique dealer. After three months and 1k miles, I can say it was well represented.

Heartman, maybe look at the Rosso Corsa F12 at Vegas Auto Gallery. I put eyes and hands on it and it looked very clean. It would make for a nice weekend trip to see it.

You’re not wrong in that it was a generalization but as mentioned on my post I was going by my own as well as others’ experience, at least from my personal circle. As I mentioned on my original post there are exceptions, and clearly you are one of them. For me, and just me, I like to put the odds in my favor and buying a certified car from a factory dealer is putting the odds in my favor.
