When I was in the market for one - I would say no based on selling prices at the time

the problem is, when you look for one, many people including dealers are selling Hgte with only few parts of the kit. Often you see cars with the exhaust, wheels and front grille but not the seats or the white Rev counter and we do not know about suspension and other stuff. There is a nice Blu Pozzi for sale in Germany actually called Hgte by the renowned dealer, there is no sign of anything Hgte excepted the wheels !
This is why the line Hgte Pack on the original invoice will always be a plus. Problem is, you could also purchase your Hgte with Daytona seats or even a red counter. I even know one who required the challenge wheels and not the modular ones.
This is why in Europe at least, an official dealer never advertised for an Hgte.
And the gap in France, for instance, is nearer than 30% than the 15% you mentioned on Hagerty.

Yours if i am not wrong is 158xxx, therefore upgraded by dealer but did he change the seats or the counter, probably not, so not the same value as a factory one

Exactly, many of the bolt on parts are easy. Did they change the springs, sway bars, re-flash for the manettino? Then you get into the interior which gets pricey and not all that necessary. HGTE wheels are still my favorite on 599s. You have a beautiful car either way.

It has HGTE wheels, carbon steering wheel with RPMs indicator, the carbon fiber backed Daytona seats, carbon fiber throughout the cabin, carbon brakes, and the suspension and power-band does not feel like a stock GTB.

I do believe I have the receipt from the dealer for the HGTE upgrade. I’ll search for it.

    Thoughts?

No difference in engine power for HGTE and they even used the same shock absorbers. You need to start looking at part numbers on the suspension (body) ECU, Motronic ECUs, TCU, springs, and rear anti-roll bar to see what parts of the kit you got. Does she have the double wall HGTE exhaust with black rear tailpipes? Kits varied widely, as mentioned above. Here is a description courtesy of Boardwalk.

HGTEs in the US were 2010 and 2011 model years, so no way an earlier model partial upgrade will be worth as much.

    599 HGTE Retrofit kit

For your 599, we offer the HGTE Retrofit kit which includes...

Handling package - consisting of new more rigid springs and rear anti-roll bar as well as new calibration for the magnetorheological shock absorbers when in the sporty positions of the Manettino (SPORT and RACE positions). The handling features a better response time and a feeling of increased compactness without unduly compromising driving comfort. The car’s ride height has also been reduced and therefore the center of gravity lowered still further, which helps with the reduction of weight shift. The lowering of the center of mass combined with the new setup helps to reduce the squat and dive as well as pitch and roll, with the resulting benefit to the car’s dynamic performance.

This setting reduces the static roll and rolling movements on the tracks as well as pitching. This gives the car faster turn-in and less under-steer effect. The car’s performance has also been improved with new tires which have been specially optimized for this package. They are characterized by a compound that helps to allow even more effective grip for better road holding combined with excellent ease of control.

The front tires are fitted on modular rims with increased rigidity and a larger track. This improves axle performance which facilitates turn-in.

These results are achieved through both mechanical and software changes:
    • Lower suspension (10mm)
    • New magnetorheologically controlled suspension calibration for the Manettino
    SPORT and RACE configurations
    • More rigid suspension springs (front + 16%, rear + 10%)
    • More rigid rear antiroll bars (diameter increased to 24.5 mm)
    • Tires with improved compound
    • Modular rims with reduced weight and special new design

The kit also adds a strong styling component: the 20” modular rims with new design and finishing treatment. The rims have a forged flange to benefit weight. The design of the spokes is highlighted by a diamond surface treatment with a technical matte transparent trim called “Silver Corsa”.

Performance package - NOTE-This kit cannot be installed on cars with manual gearboxes. Cars with VIN 156938 and greater can use this kit or HGTE Exhaust Kit part number 70001493 which is mufflers only.

The installation of the “HGTE Performance” kit, which includes the replacement of the mufflers, exhaust pipes and new software settings, offers the client faster response of the engine controls. This enhances the car’s dynamic qualities which can be best experienced on the track.

In performance driving conditions, the F1 gearbox activation is now more rapid. Indeed, thanks to optimized electronic control, the response time of the gear change command system has been reduced by 20 milliseconds during downshifting. A further enhancement involves engine control, which includes
accelerator logic with modified mapping that enhances the rapid increase in revolutions along the wide engine use field.

In addition, this kit includes exhaust tailpipes which are further enhanced in the rear ¾ views by the black chroming treatment on the side surface. The styling characteristics of the tailpipes are combined with a modification of the exhaust muffler. The sound produced by the car is more pronounced and exciting, especially for sports use, while maintaining a good level of comfort at cruising speed.

    Exhaust - Mufflers only upgrade

    Asthetic (exterior only) -
Together with the other kits, or individually, this kit completes the “customization” of the exterior. It enhances the front area with the use of a grille with a special chromatic treatment where the Prancing Horse has a more definitive appearance due to a special brushed-finish treatment. The Prancing Horse with the same treatment is also available on the rear lid.

Actually that isn't correct, they may not have advertised it as improved but I've analyzed the firmware and have evidence to prove that the HGTE runs more aggressively tuned firmware than the stock car. I don't believe a word of what they say about the ecu stuff until I look for myself with my own specially constructed tools specifically for the job of doing differential analysis of this kind :)

There are also some firmware versions which are for low emissions purposes and thus come with degraded power too.

Do you pull the tables or the whole code? What about bootloader? Edge connector or PC board header? Which bus? Naturally curious.

I've spent more than 5 man years of effort to fully reverse engineer and document the entire Bosch Motronic software (all version 7, 9 and currently doing 17) and how it operates, including the hardware pcb layout, all the IC's, all the software, including boot loader. They use off the shelf microcontroller IC's originally from Siemens, later acquired by Infineon. I've written my own tools to extract the firmware, built my own everything. Developed my own checksumming tools to re-calculate all the impacted area's (most tools do this incorrectly as there are significantly more checksums than many tools know about including "shadow checksums", etc. Anyway far too much to list here. The result of all of this is I can easily analyze Bosch binaries and not only that but also inject new features (written in C) into the firmware as if it was a custom engine management system but with OEM quality factory calibration (i.e. 1000's of man hours spent vs often very poorly calibrated aftermarket tat)...

It does have the black tip double wall exhaust tips. I’ll start going through the rest of the car to look at the parts installed.

Assuming it has the properly installed components, 18k miles, what do we think current market price is?

I’ve got a receipt for $33k in parts and $4.1k to install. I’m trying to find more specific receipt. So assuming it’s the full HGTE, what are we thinking market price is?

The sweet spot for a 2007 with similar mileage is around 130..so based on what you find ..maybe 150s

Trev- I should have said they did not claim any increased hp, but there definitely were different Motronic DMEs mentioned in the performance blurb above.

Definitely not all of the interior carbon bits. Backs of the seats are carbon as are the door panels, center console, etc. I have receipts from my car and it was $42K so you are in the ballpark. NOTE: condition and what they have replaced is everything: shocks, radiator's condition, leaking valve covers, clutch condition, etc. I suspect 2007 with that config in good condition, not pristine, is $150k or so. If it is pristine it could be $175K.

Nice. Bosch is the largest ECM tier supplier. RE skills applicable to other tiers and applications. Staying on top of the technology requires lots of reinvestment. Some of the debug software is very expensive but makes life much easier.

Which was generally the case for majority of HGTE retrofits. I am yet to see HGTE retrofit with the right carbon bits especially the part where the reverse gear selector button and other buttons are on top of the transmission tunnel and the little band right on top of the radio with says Ferrari. Even the White Tach is quite rare outside of the Factory HGTE cars.

Tach color on factory HGTE's may have been white, but owners were allowed to spec other colors. My 2011 has yellow tach face and is a factory HGTE as optioned on the Ferrari window sticker itself.

I never realized that HGTE wheels cost more than GTO wheels. It sort of makes sense with the assembly.
