Where does F1 fluid burp? Reservoir Cap?

Tried to attach pics but it says I need a URL.

I get a few drops of red, I believe F1 fluid, beside passenger side rear tire after driving. A couple of the black hoses below the reservoir are wet and they have a 6mm/flat head screw on the hose clamp. I can't quite get a socket on one and another hose is slightly covering the other so I can only get half of a flathead on it to try to tighten. It looks like it is wet on some brass connections above that, it has been in the past, but it does not look like fluid has burped out of the silver Ferrari cap in the reservoir as the black reservoir is dry. I'm hoping it's just slightly overfilled from a decent service or just a loose hose clamp.

Where does the burp come out and any suggestions on sources to tighten as I see hose clamps and hose connections that a wrench can go on. Thanks

 

Dry everything and use denatured alcohol to clean ..then put a little talc power on it and see where it is coming from

If I remember correctly, there's a small vent hole on the cap.

 

The f430 has a hose that goes to diffuser ..iirc

Look at the rear wheel liner, there is a hose with 2 cable ties. I think that is the overflow. If you have 18 mms above the plate with system pressurised it will not overflow.

 

As stated, the cap has a hose coming out of the top, looped up to the fender and connecting to a union just above the wheel well to a larger diameter hose connected to the wheel well with 2 tie-wraps coming out behind the wheel (bottom arrow).

The important part is the system pressurized or not - when not, the fluid is near the top (I think 40mm deep to the plate in there), when it is pressurize (like right after you open your driver's door) it should be at 18mm depth. If its topped off after you opened your door, it will come dripping out of the hose overnight as the pressure escapes the system (yep, done that).

Did you specify which model? The 360 vents out of a hole in the cap. Exactly the mess you’re describing. Ask me how I know

 

Yes, dumb not to state that the car is 2000 360. Cleaned everything up and went for an hour long drive. There are three brass bolts that are hose connections on the front side of the F1 pump. There was a drop of fluid on the middle bolt when I returned. It has a rubber hose with a hose clamp coming off that connection. I was able to get about a whole turn on the hose clamp screw. Same with the one next to it. I didn't make it ape tight but since it was that easy to turn I did a whole turn. I don't have a 16 mm I can get on that brass bolt but I was going to give it a quarter turn it so. I'll pick up an attachment tomorrow to make that work. I don't think it is burping due to nothing above that being wet.

Is that a 430? Looks nothing like my 360 F1 pump area/nest of hoses etc.

The hoses that have the black plastic wrapped around them just below the hose clamp with the flat head screw are the ones that are wet. I was able to tighten the clamps but the hose just above it has a brass connection with a possibly 15mm head on it. I can't quite get anything in it to tighten yet. I'll be at the hardware store tomorrow. The angle sucks for crescent wrench or anything bigger than a quarter inch drive. So crowded with the nest of hoses.

 

See pics. I have tried to tighten the bolt indicated in the picture. That is the source of the leak from what I can tell. After driving it has a drop of fluid in it and it is a little wet beneath it. Whenever I tighten it the entire hose assembly turns. Any ideas?

I would buy new copper o-orings, remove, replace, tighten. Top up fluid; or bleed if necessary.
I have gotten around at times with just smoothening the rings on 400 grit sandpaper on a flat surface... when I had no time to go buy new or just had to finish the job.

I'll probably let a shop do that at the next service as long as it just weeps a little.
