My 456 comes with two bottles of this, surely - far more enticing than a watch. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yup. Had a bottle of that in unopened original packaging that I sent along with the car. I have no idea what it smells like. Maybe it "Smells like Teen Spirit"
@Laserguru I've been meaning to get in touch with you as I read on BaT that you're the keeper of manual 456M cars. = ) It would be incredibly helpful if you could share any estimates you have on how many le mans blue, tour de force blue, midnight blue, mugello verde and silverstone verde there are in the US & Canada? Thank you kindly
Greetings, check your PM for the file on the US 456Ms. While of the 93 manual Ms, I still have 15 unknown cars (ie no real data on color, interior, etc) the roughly 80 or so cars I do have data for indicate TdF blue accounts for 9 of them, Blue Pozzi for 4 (presume this is the midnight blue you asked about), and Blue Le Mans for 1 car. As for the greens, much rarer with 2 Verde British Racing and 1 Verde Zeltweg. No Mugello unless in the unknown crowd.
Here ya go. Not sure you will find that much new, depending on when you last version was. I think I'm up to v20
Hi Laserguru. Thank you so, so much. Your hobby maintaining this spreadsheet is a tremendous resource and incredibly helpful. Thanks again
Yes, but it is nowhere near as mature. I do these things during the long New Hampshire winters but had rather extensive surgery on my right shoulder (and I'm right handed). Keyboards are difficult and I haven't gotten near as much done on it and the 575 register as I had hoped. Rotator cuff, bicep tendor, and sub-scapular tendon all in one go is pretty damn debilitating and a hell of a recovery. I underestimated the degree of lingering annoyance! As I have done with the 456M registry, when they are structured and beginning to be populated, I will cheerfully share the 456 and 575 ones.
You dont happen to have a year by year production breakdown of any of these cars, and for which market or LHD vs RHD? How rare is a 94 vs 97 456 etc?
Image Unavailable, Please Login I have that for the Ms in the US. Working on the earlier model but not complete by any stretch.
I get a cheap thrill when one of the unknowns shows up, comes to market, however it is that I get data on a car that I hadn't been able to run down previously.
It is a total kick, thanks for doing it, when I first got my car you sent it over and I was amazed. Prior to that I was totally unaware of production — but having a super hard time locating what turned out to be one of two built my color that year ! It is fun to watch the market turn bullish on these lately. I will see if I can locate any of the other unknowns, I spent time in NH when I lived in the northeast I recall seeing a guns, gas & bait shop if memory serves. Beautiful state.
I can add my old 456M GT although it was always a euro car. First delivered to Germany, then imported to Norway. I had it for about three years, and sold it to a young gentleman that had it for several years, then sold it to some guy who wrecked it on his way home! After that it has disappeared and I was told it has been insurance fraud etc. involved. Tragic story. One picture shows the police is on the hunt for it! Text in Norwegian. 1999 Daytona Black met. with Verde interior. Quite sophisticated... Chassis nr. 20054710135 (custom because it was exchanged after a 1997 non M got totalled. Norwegian taxes are about the same as the cost of the car in some cases, so if a car is more then 3/4 damaged, you have the right to import another one and "only" pay the 25% value added tax but not the registration tax and then splice the cars together. The pics are from when I owned it 2009-2011 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why? That would have been a 45-50k car just a year or two ago. At 68k for an automatic, that's a great appreciation.
Solid loot. The interior was a tiny bit of a Frankenstein job. It looked very nice and somebody certainly paid a lot to have it redone but there were ALOT of areas they missed completely that remained tan (roof, parking break, rear seat sides, etc….). The stitched Cavalino on the drivers headrest was very cool though, it just did not match the backseats.
