F1 journalist and IT consultant Petr Hlawiczka Mercedes achieved 50% thermal efficiency a few years back btw.
They were the only drivers that signed autographs after testing...thanks to Fiorano. No one else I saw did this.....maybe because of the track they tested on.
I have said it before, Charles and Carlos are a PR dream. They are great on camera, and seem very willing to spend time with the fans, with whom they are humorous, polite and friendly. As they are with each other. Now that doesn't win championships, but it does build the brand with new generations of fans and probably sells a lot of team replica "merch". Who knows how the relationship between them will develop if they are fighting for the WCC? But that is what we call a first world problem.
They run only 15 out of 100 km, because of fog or? I doubt this runs are useful anyway, otherwise they will use Mugello, an actual F1 track. Anyone knows more on the topic?
I read somewhere that it was a shakedown ahead of completing the remaining kms at Barcelona ahead of the start of testing.
So the F1-75 is going to be c**p because the F92A was c**p? - Seriously struggling to understand your logic there!
back in the day everyone was saying how beautiful the F92A was and it was crap. Fast forward 30 years and I’m hearing how beautiful the F1-75 is-let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself. We won’t know anything until the first race.
So the F1-75 has a combination of horizontal cooling louvers(hard to see) and vertical cooling louvers. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
even though I like the innovative approach, I’m still trying to understand how the louvers will be advantageous vs the cars without them. It would seem that more points of interruption dissipates airflow (though I know it’s about dissipating heat). I guess we’ll see soon enough. I’m certain the Ferrari engineers have thought of all of those types of questions.
Sainz "in the middle" of negotiations over new Ferrari F1 contract Carlos Sainz Jr says he is currently “in the middle” of negotiations with Ferrari about an extension to his contract with the legendary Formula 1 team.
This guy does a good job of explaining what he believes is happening aero-wise, including the louvers:
