Anyone ever have a gear strip on their side view mirror? Is it an easy repair? I can adjust up and down but it gets stuck side to side.

No, he's talking about the electrical adjustment.

Correct. I though for sure someone here would have had the same issue and had a fix for it. I guess not. I will see if I can pop the mirror out somehow to get to the gear mechanism.

Opening up my older thread again. I have to fix this. Can the side view mirror glass be safely popped out to get to the gears behind it?

The glass can be removed, as I had to replace mine. I don't know if I got lucky, but I was able to remove it safely.....but proceed with extreme caution and you probably want to remove the mirror completely off the car when you attempt to do it. I did this about 12 years ago and remember positioning the glass all the way to one side where I could fit my fingers behind the back side and gently push from the center ...and mine popped out...but, it is not very thick and the last thing you want to do is crack it by putting too much stress on the edges..best of luck if you attempt it.
