Was at the grand viewing event for the new 296 GTB at Ferrari Rancho Mirage CA. I was told by the Sales Manager that Ferrari has officially stopped taking orders for the entire line of cars except the 296 GTB and the Roma. Now we can only hope they start delivering on the orders they have in house. 9 Months ago I placed my order for a new 812 GTS and I’m told I will see it in fall of 2022.

    All correct.
Keep in mind that the factory currently has more than 27'000 firm orders already, all sold cars, that means almost three (3!) full years of production (10 K cars/year).
They simply don't have the production capacity.
First they have to build those 27'000 cars...........

Hey, but lets introduce a SUV that is intended as a 'mass market' vehicle to broaden our appeal and grow our business! Sounds like a swell idea.

In the beginning the new SUV/FUV/Purosanue/whatever will not be a mass market vehicle. One cannot simply walk into a Ferrari dealer and order one, you have to have a certain history already. It will be very exclusive for some time.

Simple. Have a guy at the end of the Subaru production line with a hand full of Ferrari badges.

Was/is their marketing hope, demographic push, supposed to be aimed at wealthy housewives? (I ask this in earnest, not in jest).

This is going to hurt the dealers unless the SUV hits soon.

As you say 27,000 orders would equal almost 3 years of production even without adding in orders for the ugly truck thing and the 296 GTB/GTS. So why are the waiting times on existing orders not 3 years? The numbers don't add up. I realize we are talking about Ferrari and their numbers never add up but even so...

That would be totally unacceptable and an embarrassment. They have to last at least 4 years to when the stickies start showing up

But at least you will not have to buy a 5 figure extended warranty to keep it running.

no way, with all due respect, I find it hard to believe Ferrari will do different sale tactic to Lambo's Urus. We literally can order a Urus anytime anyday, and we are inundated with Urus here in LA and Miami.

If the FUV is NA V12, I am game.

Have you actually tried to order a Urus lately? Order book has been closed/paused for a while now.

We have test driven the car at two different dealers and was offered the allocation right away. It was approximately 3 months ago. Now we have a STO incoming by the end of this year, but the freaking carbon fiber package has a supply issue.
