Have an 812 GTS on order, placed about a year ago. I selected Rosso Maranello at the time, dealer put it under PNTN "Special Colours" about 14k CAD.

We were adding some options recently and dealer is now saying Rosso Maranello is PNTE "Special 3/4 Layers Paint" which is 35K CAD. Is this right? Just want to be sure.

I would have gone for it if it was in the 13k bracket. It’s the most beautiful Rosso IMO.

It's worth EVERY penny. Absolutely fantastic. I specced Magma for my GTS, but have Maranello on my 812. Hope I don't regret not getting Maranello again.

Similar colors- Magma is a little more dynamic whereas Maranello is a little bit more “mature”. Both very special.

How do you compare the two? Dealer only has Maranello.

I've also seen some nice photos of coburn as well

    Thank you

Oddly I was looked out of grigio competizione for my SF spider which won’t be bout for ant least a year. But allowed Grigio coburn which is its other name for less.

Also note those are 2 layers.

Except for a Maserati in passing, I’ve never seen Magma in person. It’s the third triple layer I’ve ordered (though it may be a 4 layer?) sight unseen. Pics of Coburn look great. I think k I saw it in Monterey on a Pista. Wasn’t the best lighting for it…

When I ordered the Maranello on my 812, the dealer made a swatch of it for me. I tried to find a car in person, but another dealer luckily had a larger sample of it in their atelier and I was in love.

Beautiful color with a lot of live action in the surface.

Here it is at the Paris Image Unavailable, Please Login
car show for the 812 pre-production.

Pictures flatten it out whereas light shifts and it enlivens it, highlighting the surfaces and shapes.

I love the new color - thank you for the screen grab of Rosso Taormina

    Hi Iain.

Please can you tell me if you know when this chart is from?

My dealer has said that a lot of the 2 layer paints are now 3/4 layers so almost double the cost. Rosso Portofino was 2 layer in 2020 and is now 3-4 layers so does that mean it’s a different colour?

My dealer also said Blu elettrico is now 3/4 layers.

    Grant,

It is from a 447 page document that your dealer should be able to access online. It has sections showing configurator style renders for all of the model range showing interior and exterior livery and trim permutations as guideline examples to show customers what the factory can offer by way of personalisation. It is from 2021 so it may well have been superceeded by now. Here are some examples from within it -

Both Coburn and Maranello is three layers. Magma is a four layer which is one of the reason why it is more dynamic.

Maranello is more orange in the sun and not quite as liquid as Coburn. Here's my Coburn SF90.
