CCP for decades sticking there nose into HK and the way of life ..

 

They have strangled HKG now Rob..It will never be the same…

 

I regret not going there in the eighties when I had the chance - just the approach through the high-rises would have been worth the trip.

 

It was never going to be the same.

It was a good fun place while it lasted.

 

I bet they were egging you on!!

 

It was once a world City..As vibrant as NewYork , Tokyo or London..Now the mainland wants to cut it off from the rest of the world..Banking industry all moving to Singapore , Locals getting out, Trust dwindling and it’s history being wiped out..By next year it will be just another polluted mainland city..

Point taken, but i think what we are referring to is how it completely transforms the car and the driving experience!!

 

of course it does ,Ferrari did different diff ratios for a reason..

Like i said....line them up side by side on a rolling start and see how you go.

 

My grandmother would travel there 1/2 dozen times a year in 50s ,new the HK like a local ..she always said Once the Americans get there they will ruin the value of goods and once the lease ends ....Get out..

So for instance take Brocks A9X set up for Bathurst with a 2.78 final drive and race it around Lakeside with an identical car set up with a lower final drive you're saying it'd make no difference?
I'd have my money on the later!!

Spot on ... you know with the Ford 9 inch diff there is around 20 different final drive ratios ..

Tried it. Proved it. Not a problem.....unless the difference is huge, as I said from the start.

BTW simon, does the 400 manual and 400 auto have the same diff and ratio?

 

Yes, but a taller final drive means that your nicely-spaced gear ratios are now spaced further apart. I do take your point that it won't make much difference if you're tooling around the city, but with sportier driving, and especially on a race track, the difference becomes more obvious.

great diff i ran in the race cars a diff internal called a Gold track..one amazing thing compared to a locker or a spool .

Simons new 365 would have been shocking just as well he didn't try to pass any road trains in top gear ..
