This car would have done much stronger if the stripe and aftermarket audio were removed and everything restored. I believe originality is huge when purchasing a car like this, along with service history. I dont know much about the auction site it was listed on however it is probably not the feeding frenzy that BAT is either.

I dunno, I too thought $265k was a fair basic offer when considering there was bound to be some style of commission on top of that. Great color (not as rare as the 1 of 1 hue that sold on BaT), looked to be maintained well... Plenty of interest on that auction site I thought. Reserve could/may have been $300k? But on that day $265k+ fees was what it brought (on a lesser known auction site). Really not too large of a delta.

Thought their was more workarounds on that.
e.g Can you keep/store the car, but just not tag it? Show and display?

Either way I kind of assumed their would be a simple reason against it, since it otherwise seemed too attractive.

It’s not straightforward, is a pain in the ass… In general Americans prefer buying US cars

Yes, the point being that as the price delta increases so would the motivation to deal with all of that. We are not there yet it seems.

Has there ever been any attempt to ballpark the number of crashed CS''s? Mike has captured almost 67 percent of those still going. Are we talking 50? 100? More?

I have database of over 40 crashed/damaged cars with confirmed VIN's (with damages ranging from broken bumpers/bodywork/headlights to burnt to the ground and everything in between). Plus around 30 crashed cars without a confirmed VIN. I would guess well over 100 crashed cars in total.

Only a broken front or rear bumper isn't counted as 'crashed'. It must at least have damaged bodywork to count as a crash (for my database).

Agree. The interior pic of the Gooding car appears washed out and faded, not to mention a sagging drivers seat. Again- is the actual condition or a poor pic. Very difficult to take good pics of that alcantara interior. That color interior is ridiculously sensitive to light and greatly affects the look if you snap off a bad pic quickly. Gooding is usually meticulous too.

I like the stripe. And for me the stripe made the car easier to appreciate for the masses. It looked so serious without the stripe. Having the macho bit (white / decorated colored stripe) was nearly whimsical back many years ago when I first pulled mine off the truck. Peoples head exploded when you took your Ferrari too seriously then (and still today). The stripe made it much more palatable (I found) to the huddled masses. So many twisted people frown when they see a Ferrari. The stripe fixes some of that.
