Alpine catching fire, Aston's Merc engine breaking down...the team in red sure is looking good right now, reliability second to none.

The way they worded it, I wouldn't say it's cancelled just not possible to hold the race at the moment.

Good points raised. It killed arguably one of the most charismatic F! driver to date.

Looks like some teams are now starting to bleed out air in a controlled way from the undertray to prevent the cars bottoming out and stalling - result = less down force. I wonder if the brains behind this (Brawn) actually anticipated this when constructing the new regulations, clever if he did.

Cannot remember how Williams got over this and leapfrogged Lotus, didnt Piquet complain he lost vision due to his eyeballs bouncing in their sockets!!

    Active suspension would help!

According to race promoter Rosgonki, the race has been suspended due to "force majeure events" and that it is possible the race will take place as scheduled.

Its up to you to determine who that was, I am not going to debate my choice suffice to say there are a few contenders.

I do believe the fix was active suspension....however that won't be the answer this time i would think. Given how sophisticated the system was back then already, despite the limitations of computing at the time, imagine what they could do now? F1 really would become a thing of ''point and squirt''.

One of the reason the got rid of ground effect cars was that in the rain the cars left a cloud of water vapor not a cloud of droplets, and the driver behind could not see.

Ferrari is the most talked about team in the Paddock with its reliable car, The engine is also believed to be more powerful than the 2021 one, while Mercedes and Red Bull are still not at the 2021 level

Why do you think pull-rod is disadvantaged?

Rocker geometry can be adapted on both configurations for rising rate or more rising rate.

Piquet and everyone else, cars had literaly no suspension, and the tracks were a lot bumpier in those days, so the vibration was huge, i remenber Gilles saying he couldn't see in the straights because of the vibrations. At first they had moveable skirts that would "adapt" to the track surfice, keepting the venturies sealed, later, they were forbiden, and the cars had a minimum height in relation to the track, so Gordon Murray invented a sistem that would lower the car when rcing (cause nobody could measure it !), so everyone else folowed!, we canm see the cars raising when they go slowly and going down when they accelerate, it's funny, finaly they adopted suspensions super rigid in order to keep the skirts as close to the floor a spossible, that was in 82 and thae cars became very, very dificult to drive, several drivers arrived at the end of races completely exausted, i remenber Patrese almost passing out in the brabham, and nelson needed help to gt to the podium....

it would certainly assist in controlling the suspension movement / travel at high speed given the downforce they are generating. Either would still ultimately bottom out but a min ride height could be controlled better and maintain the optimum underfloor to ground clearance. Not allowed unfortuantely Bas but as you say with modern technology it would have been fascinating to see how it was developed.
