Sadly, despite how awesome it would be, I doubt its true. Good for morale though.

There are US tankers, SIGINT (who the hell came up with the name Rivet Joint for the RC135 btw?) and AWACS loitering right over the border all the time now. I wonder how much they know and how much help they are providing.

What is telling is the lack of W. euro support. I cannot elaborate too much without running into moderation issues.

Will volunteer pilots with jets soon arrive from other E. euro countries. Russia deserves it's own medicine for the support provided, in both Korea and VN. Let em fight,

That said, the U.S. should NOT become involved.

If he is real he needs to stay anonymous as long as possible. I hope he is. They could use the morale boost.

I saw this and find it highly unlikely to be true, let's be realistic. I don't think this war will last very long. Where were the rest of his fighter squadrons aircraft, on the way to Poland??

My guess is that Putin will see it differently. No one likes to see their technology being used to kill their military.

You would think Vlad would have required a backdoor into every Mig 29 just for this occasion.

As I understand it the 29s are from early 90's? You'd think 2 things.
    1. Ivan had a very superior version by now.
    2. The Ski's had cut off parts long ago and none were airworthy.

There were already posts saying this was made up by a gamer YouTuber to boost morale.

Who knows what's real in the information war. Six kills by a Fulcrum in a day is something unheard of.

Stalin used to create fake martyrs to inspire his people. Then if they weren't inspired.....he would just kill them.

I appreciate things are desperate on the ground but once Putin has control over the airspace, power generation and the city surrounded.......sending more Ukrainians to their death won't change the outcome.

The Ukrainians need to read the playbook from Afghanistan if they want to have a future in 10-20 years from now or they need to leave the country and live off the EU or the US.

Great news! Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Poland will transfer their MiG-29s to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Sounds odd that Bulgaria would be.

I wonder if they have the pilots, airfields, fuel and support to even do anything with these.

I think Ukraine already operates MiG 29s, which is why this makes sense.

The crazy thing is that, as far as I can tell, the Russians have still not achieved air superiority!

They are flying their own MiG-29s. They might not have more pilots, but these addtional aircraft will help tremendously: for example, while one unit is under maintanance, the pilot can jump in o another one that is available.

Did this guy ever train in Top Gun or Red Flag????

I know several squadrons from various countries train under Top Gun or Red Flag.

Since Ukraine is neutral, I doubt it.

I suspect better bona fides than "My enemies enemy" is required for such support.

The 194th Fighter Squadron CA ANG (Fresno) did train with Ukrainians. Guard pilots have a lot of hours.

U.S. needs to send pilots who used to fly in the 64th and 65th Aggressor Squadrons, from several 'bases' in Nevada.

I will never miss an opportunity to spam the board with original old patches, from my collection.

Enclosed, is the design from the 194th FIS.

194th Fighter Interceptor Sq., CA ANG, Fresno, CA. Circa late 1950's, after transitioning from the F-86F, to the F-86D.

Fighter Squadron 878, VF-878. USNR mid-1950's. F2H-3 ? NAS Alameda. (extremely rare patch, to locate). 2 or 3 floating around - total. Decided to showboat this patch as well.

So much mis/disinformation that it’s hard to tell whats really going on. That said, the Ukrainians are definitely winning the propaganda war. Further, if real, the videos of captured Russians will be used as examples in SERE training of what not to do. It’s just mind boggling how bad the Russians are doing though. Kinda makes you wonder if there’s some reason (that I’m not smart enough to figure out) behind it. Surely the 2nd most powerful military in the world can’t be that incompetent. Not exactly a good example of global reach, as we’d call it.

The problem is the Russians do not have a professional non-commissioned officer corps like we do in the West. So basically, they have mostly conscripts and officers. Much tougher to operate an army like that. There are elite units and then everybody else, most of whom have not been told what they are actually doing.
