John ,might be right as one would be a '74 model if built after Phil Read won the 500cc '74 World Championship ! But the drum brake was also in '74..
I thought they went to front discs in '74 which would mean the disc bike has 1 extra (maybe). Could be completely wrong though - followed Phil's progress closely in the mc press that year.
But the extra star would have been placed on the tank after the '74 500cc Championship? Guess it depends when the bike was built in '74. I know were one bike is ,I can check for fun next time I see it .From memory that is the disc brake bike ,as it had a mark on the tank, that was how i worked out it was the said bike.. Nice little profit ..bikes bought as new in '76 of Jeff Hughes the then agent in Canterbury for 3.5k each and sold in 1989 for 50k each

When you see the cars like that, they all look so stunning. They really are works of art on wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He did. He was there with his youngest son, whom is a total petrol head, apart from many other attributes. I didn't see this until now, so didn't pass on your regards. Sorry
When did he stop? We've been talking for years. You're not dumb enough to listen to Rob, Carl and Greg, are you? He told me you called for a chat.
Well he said to me ages ago that he should get over his tiff and glad to see he did I need to call him again
This looked wonderfully imposing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
