Write or call Ferrari North America. Can most likely go through your Dealer also.

My 488 is in for service as we speak. I was advised that Ferrari is hoping to have the parts on the ground in the next few months. They did not on my report that my fluid level was perfect which seemed to imply that my car is not showing signs of failure as of now. Either way I hope the fix can be added shortly. The driving season is short here and I hope to be able to enjoy it without worry.

Same thing I heard from FoD - My 458 VIN is on the recall list and I got the letter but when she was in for her bi-annual in November they checked everything and all was well - They said when they get the part(s) in I should just proactively bring her in to satisfy the recall even if there are no signs of an issue and no warning light. Figure I will just have them address it when she is in for the annual later in the year - probably others with more pressing need ahead of me :)

Parts being shipped to Dealerships now

MODIS should reflect chassis numbers starting tomorrow morning.

I would 100% suggest making an appointment.

    More details tomorrow!

    Cap 000810768 ( Black in color )
Sticker 079641778 ( to be placed in owners manual, so bring it with you to your appointment )

Note, it looks like only 20 caps will be sent out per Dealership initially, so expect those to go quickly.

Once the initial batch of updates have been perform, we will find out how to order additional caps.

Dick Lovett, Swindon has ordered lots of these caps. I have just spoken to the Service Manger. He thinks it’s probably a couple of hours work as the NQS update will probably take a majority of the time. My 488 is not booked in yet, I will let them do a few first.

Thanks Safe for the pics. Can you tell what the functional difference in the caps is?

The working bit in the middle looks completely different, which makes sense given the previous description of the problem being one of pressure not being released.

The rubber ceiling diaphragm appears to be the primary difference other than the color of the cap, it’s a flexible diaphragm style gasket versus the previous black rubber circle gasket. ( The photographs help what I said makes sense )
