One has to chuckle a *bit* at the notion some people have with regards to there not being any good cars out there.

They amazingly seem to pop up almost weekly on BAT.

Maybe not the 355 Berlinettas which have been somewhat in hiding, but who knows how many are trading hands in less conspicuous ways...

State Farm raised my agreed value of my 9400 miles tr to 180k, didn’t even ask for an appraisal. I guess market really is up;) wonder what Hagerty would give

Thats the good news. The bad news comes when your insurance bill arrives.

Hmmmm…. what is their criteria for ‘antique’? Beats Hagerty at 1800 agreed value 110.

in germany we have an other law: if older than 30 years you can apply for a "historic license plate". so the last letter then on this plate is a H. but this you only will get when the car is a good condition and original. or tuned within the first 10 years after first registration. if you for example have a car built in 1980 and it was first registered in 1995 then the 30 years will start 1995
and only when you have such a H plate then the insurance will have special rates. but this is from company to company very different. one of the requirements is that you have minimum a second car insured at the same company. this is the same at all insurance companies. but all other ( so yearly mileage, garage, dialy use etc. ) you can discuss.

Plus the seller made the rookie mistake of telegraphing his apparent reserve price of $130k, which turned out to be the exact same as the ultimate sale price.

This car at 130K seems like a bargain compared to the silver car that sold for 110K that may or may not need an engine overhaul,.just three weeks ago.
A lot was made of the black interior in this car and how much better it is than a tan interior. I have a Yellow TR with black interior and a couple of Red-Tans.
I don't really like black interiors in any Ferrari. I bought the yellow car because it was Yellow, and just had to grit my teeth on the black interior.

I agree, the 1988 car was well presented, and the owner obviously showed pride in the car- did a nice job rebuilding components, I think the buyer did well.
In some ways it's nicer than my 3000 mile car! I hate all the undercoating slathered on some of these cars.
