GT3 races in IMSA in the Gt3 Cup series. Pretty much same engine, suspension, body parts. Ferrari nor anyone else races a F8. Ferrari and customer teams and even in Ferrari's own Challenge series they are still racing the 488.

Agreed on the 488 sound - I had the valves on mine pinned open as soon as it arrived.
Went to a launch event for the 296 and was underwhelmed with the looks - I prefer 458, 488 and F8.

agreed…..the 488 sound with valves open sounds just fine. I have the Novitec exhaust on my 488, and that sounds fantastic! I haven’t seen the 296 in person, but I’d agree it doesn’t look quite as exotic as the 458,488,F8. I’d make a final judgement after seeing it in person. I wasn’t sure about the Roma until I viewed it in person….looks wise, for what they intended to accomplish, the Roma is a fantastic looking GT car! IMO

The exhaust note does not compare to a naturally aspirated 458 but I bet you will be so thrilled with everything else you won’t be disappointed in fact you will be thrilled. If not there will be a crowd lined up to buy it from you.

Hi Joe - you and I have had the 458, which arguably has a better exhaust note than the 488, even with the 488 exhaust valves plugged.

I attended when the F8 was debuted at FoH but was not impressed with how the car sounded. Perhaps it was because the demo car was 100% factory, hence the exhaust valves were not plugged, but nonetheless, be aware (as many of us are) nothing in recent platforms compares to the 9000 RPM 458, even with the factory exhaust.

    Best, Andy

@metaldriver and @Chizz - you're both correct. The exhaust note of my 488 simply didn't exacerbate the perpetual ringing in my ears (11B).

if there would be two option Portofino, first turbo and second NA with 15% less hp and 20% higher price, what option would you choose? turbo or NA?

Both would have GPFs, so the turbo would not sound a good as the NA...definitely go with NA, but Ferrari has not made a NA V-8 since 2015MY, seems that ship has sailed

Sounds like the gardeners outside of my house at 10am on a Tuesday morning….sounds like many things….but doesn’t sound like, a Ferrari.

It’s definitely smaller than 458-488-f8. Leg room is ok and foot room is better but head room shoulder room is tight for tall or broad guys.

i agree. I’m 6 ft. And “slightly” above my ideal fighting weight and I found the 296 to be a tad snug.

It's not that simple. It can be reversed, and often your dealers view on the matter is part of it

The time and expense every year to have that done would be a major huge hassle. Plus I think Ferrari will be able to tell the ECU has been tampered with …going back and forth from stock to tune back to stock.

Specked out a 296 and the dealer is giving me the standard jerk around on information.

Such as that (FCAM) is mandatory but they don't know what the huge camera in the body molding is...

    Like really?!

(PAR2) I know and have circled in red.

Was hoping to clarify with a few of you here if you speculate the camera on the front circled in white is the (FCAM) or some kind of telemetry and is it really mandatory?

If this keeps up I am going to just get a refund and find myself another backdate Ferrari!

FCAM, at least on the F8, is not the front camera in the front bumper. It's a camera system in the rear view mirror housing that supports "smart" features like identifying road signs (speed limits), and other things. It does not provide front view parking camera functionality.
