    Almost?

The exhaust button would look better than Porsche Sport Exhaust System button if it could be backlit.

So the kinky stick is just for testing...the straight stick hasn't been threaded yet for the shift ball.

Art mentioned that there could be some additional Easter Eggs in the upcoming pictures too

Couldn't agree more - consider my hat doffed.

What about the kinky gearstick? The one in your car appears from a 456, but his repro on the bench above looks straight like a 550 gearstick.

What is the current waiting time to have a 575 converted to manual at EAG ?

    A very long time.

My 550 was at the mechanic until a month ago for 6 months for a list of relatively easy stuff.

18 months ago I had a DART 427 rebuilt and it took a different engine builder 11 days short of a year.

    Nothing is fast anymore…..

P.s. it’s not uncommon for “difficult clients” to get the “Seinfeld - Soup Nazi” treatment ;-)

As it pertains to this one specific area….unfortunately all we have is money…they whom have the skill and desired goods/services have all the power. I love it when I’m on the other side (power side) of that equation ;-)

I was terrified during the year long DART 427 rebuild that if I groused then I would get told thanks and take your business elsewhere….that’s a real nightmare. Oh and with a lot of guys like that it’s some cash up front and progress payments….none of this….feel free to pay the $xx,000 bill at the end of the project.

Missed that episode but just watched it. Hilarious. Thank you. Everyone except maybe doctors (for now) seem to have adopted that approach. Have you tried to negotiate with or try to understand the estimate bases of a PDR guy, landscaper or handyman lately? If you negotiate or ask too many questions (more than 1 or 2) they go away and won't return your calls.

    Dan….Happy New Year!
I was reading the recent thread about @bagel1993 picking up his new 575 and that got me thinking about your project with Art.

    Any updates and photos?

    Always eager…..

    @Ferrari55whoa Happy New Year Eric,

No major updates. EAG moved from San Antonio to Austin...new shop looks neat...new equipment should shorten R&D timeframe.

Thought the latest Normal Guy Video would provide a nice update on the build. My car makes a cameo in the video.

The video shows the approach Art is taking to reduce vibration. The factory gated blue 575m currently being auctioned on BAT apparently has a bit of the vibration issue that you can see in the first few seconds of the driving video posted (on the auction).

I didn’t see any mention of 575 in this video, but I’ll admit I skipped a few seconds at a time, very boring to watch whole thing nonstop

Yeah, no mention of 575...just the V12 linkage.

I did get a lot of buzzing at the gate in 3d gear, but after engine and transmission mounts replaced, hardly noticeable

Not 575 related, but my 360 is in for belt service and we decided to rebuild the shift box, linkage, and replace the cables with OEM parts. The car is in a Ferrari service center, and they sent me some pretty cool pictures. This bushing had snapped.

The more and more people I speak with, it seems as though this happens on just about all gated cars with miles. Art at EAG has been adamant that this is one of the soft spots that his kit looks to strengthen. Art offered to to rebuild my box with his parts, but by the time we spoke, the guys at Ferrari had already completed the rebuild. I really enjoyed these pictures and hope you do as well!

It’s an interesting one on the v12 linkage vibrating. I’ve never noticed it, and of the handful of people I’ve spoken to with direct experience driving them, I don’t know of a anyone who has had an issue with vibration.

The new linkage setup art has devised for Dan’s 599 is genuinely impressive, but it’s a complex arrangement, and I fail to see how it can give as direct a feel as the oem shift bar with all of its simplicity.
