I am still genuinely puzzled about McLaren goofing it so bad this year. I really don’t get it. Frankly the aero is more simple generally speaking.
Exactly this. I do not understand it, either - they are supposed to be one of the best racing teams in the world, working exclusively with the "crème de la crème" of engineering geniuses. And now they apparently "miscalculated" the size of their front brake ducts, because they "thought" the cars "would be much slower"?????
Also, with Norris recent comments the breaks are evidently only one of the issues. He seemed to refer to underlying fundamental design issues saying they have no traction etc. https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12572352/norris-no-simple-fix-for-new-mclaren-its-not-quick-enough
This is interesting....Norris saying they have fundamental design issues, James key saying the platform (chassis and aero) are working well, just limited in grip... Err. Wtf is it? James Key has a history of designing really nice chassis.
Seb's name is on the paddock garage.....still no confirmation from the team. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Marko speaks: Marko says "fuel supply system" was behind the double DNF in the BahrainGP. He told F1-Insider: "To put it simply. A vacuum in the fuel supply system caused the engine to run out of fuel. I think we can solve the problem already in Saudi Arabia this weekend." Marko denied speculation about the cars not having enough fuel to get to the end of the race. "Without giving exact figures: There was still enough petrol in the tank of both cars," he said.
Maybe they can both find a new 'hobby' LOL 'Lawrence Stroll now even seems to be joining technical meetings' 22-03-2022 06:26 | Updated: 22-03-2022 09:59 by GPblog.com F1 News Image Unavailable, Please Login Aston Martin is off to a very bad start to the 2022 Formula One season. Ralf Schumacher sees all things going wrong at the team, where Lawrence Stroll as owner now seems to be sitting in on technical discussions himself. Aston Martin fails Whereas Aston Martin, under the leadership of Lawrence Stroll, wanted to attack the very top of Formula 1, under his leadership it has gone from a place at the top of the middle table, now completely relegated to the bottom spot. The team failed to get out of Q1 in Bahrain with two cars and never came close to scoring points in the race.
Don’t know how you get “vacuum” in a tank as it needs to be vented so probably—as I surmised: with low fuel quantity in the tank, hotter than normal running while behind safety car and higher rate of evaporation of ethanol at higher temperatures—they probably ran into a vapor lock problem. And here they were all blaming the Marelli-supplied priming pump.
I feel bad for McLaren...they’re back at the bottom and likely to be stuck in the back of the midfield at best for the rest of the year.
It reminds a lot of how they started off with the last new formula in 2014. Sad to see, especially since they appear pretty likable.
I'd like to see Hulkenberg get a second weekend in a row behind the wheel. It would be a good measuring stick for other members of the team.
Hulkenberg will drive for Aston Martin again in the SaudiArabianGP. Vettel has not tested negative yet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
