Do you know what happens if a team goes over budget? It would be interesting to know if the penalty is worse than the benefit. We have seen that grid penalties for using extra engines didn't affect much the top teams.
Good question, I have absolutely no clues about this. Frankly how they will check this budget cap is the question mark. Huge controversies coming I fear..
Can't really without delving into politics with examples, but to call BBC the most neutral platform in the world is utterly laughable.
British press together with spanish press are garbage. They have some wonderfull journos but that's it, guys like Roebuck are semi-retired and most of the new ones are useless....
Name me some more nuetral?, bbc is required by law to be nuetral, it will have its public funding suspended if its not nuetral.... What others are truly independent and nuetral? We have associated press, reuters, new york times.. Cant think of many... Cbs maybe and pbs.. Really struggling to name more.... Again you have no counter argument. Talking about press freedom and neutrality isnt politics... Ofc confusing opinion pieces and news is easy, some people confuse them.
Not in home politics ( where they are accused of left-wing bias), but generally speaking, the BBC has been seen as the standard-bearer of impartiality in many countries. There may be a hint of chauvinism from some sport commentators at times, but not worse than in several other countries I could mention. Can you quote a "neutral platform" in sport reporting?
French press don’t care anymore. Car isn’t politically correct. Fortunately we have Canal Plus with very complete broadcasting.
News hasn't been impartial in quite some time. Regarding sport platforms, I don't think any are truly impartial, understandable to a certain point. It used to be Sky but they're getting more and more biased. Seems they realized that faking a Netflix style narrative gets them many clicks on their website.
Isn’t it formula one almost always that way? Early 90’s McLaren 92-94 Williams 96-97 Williams 98-99 McLaren 00-04 Ferrari 05-06 Renault Later on Red Bull… Mercedes… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't dispute that, but it's one of the many accusations against F1, it leads to domination from one team. People expect constant battles and the results to be unpredictable. Only the supporters of one team are happy if it wins all the time.
Sometimes I wonder if 3 cars per team could be a good idea. Likely impossible to do though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
"Do X or you lose your funding" and "neutral" are not exactly compatible, especially where X is subjective. Reminds me of the movie Caddyshack where Rodney Dangerfield hands a $100 bill to the referee as he says, "Keep it fair! Keep it fair!"
Of course it’s hard to compare across eras but if we think about it analytically Lewis is clearly the best of all time. You won’t get a balanced view from this forum though OP, so many on here absolutely hate Lewis and make ridiculous claims. Putting the fact that he dominates all statistical categories aside - race wins, poles etc. Lewis is the complete package. Blistering 1 lap pace, race pace, wet weather pace, racecraft and consistency, whilst also having the best team mates of anyone ever in f1 - 8 seasons up against a team mate who won a wdc and lewis beat them all despite never being the number 1 driver (he actually started as the number 2 at mclaren in 2007, being high fuelled in qualy up until after monaco so as not to get in Alonso’s way. Lewis beat him something like 9-3 after that) Senna had the one lap pace but not the race pace and was error prone. Prost lacked the 1 lap pace. Clark and fangio - it was an era of amateur racing so there isn’t much comparison. schumacher arguably is the closest to Hamilton in terms of complete driver skills but where Hamilton clearly wins out to me is he’s not a cheat or dirty driver like Schumacher. He’s also been tried and tested against many wdc team mates. Schumacher never had any good team mates and the ones he did have were contractual number 2s who literally had to move over for him. Then there’s that question mark of when he finally did get a good team mate (rosberg), he was beaten 3 years on the bounce (admittedly he was 41 but still expected better).
Toto Wolff tells a different story. Trying to denigrate Hamilton is second nature to you, it seems. Tell us again the story of Button showing better results than Hamilton. That's such a great yarn ...
Good driver; fake records. No driver in history ever had a dominant car for 8 straight straight years with a level of domination not seen before as in having so much as to just cruise around. And still, he lost 2 of those championships—one to a teammate!
I don't actually hear Bottas saying he was signed as #2. It's only the commentary that claims it. Try again. Rosberg never said it either, and young Russell absolutely denies it, and that's on tape. So there ...
Bottas was always given equal equipment and at the start of every season was given the chance to fight Hamilton. Team orders were implemented on a few rare occasions last year when it was clear bottas was out of contention for the title. Lewis even gave bottas a position back when fighting for the title with vettel as he was unable to overtake him. Ferrari and red bull in the past have made it clear that the other driver is a contractual number 2. The first driver gets first dibs on equipment and the strategy of the second car is used to benefit the first car, particularly in MSC days.
Ferrari had a championship winning car from 1997 to 2006 (barring 2005). Last I checked schumacher didn’t win all of those… Yes Hamilton lost one season to rosberg because he got incredibly unlucky with reliability failures costing him the title. Schumacher lost to rosberg 3 seasons on the bounce by quite a large margin. Lewis also beat vettel to the title multiple times with the Ferrari definitely being the better car in at least one of those seasons according to experts. I don’t even need to mention the 2021 robbery…
You must be new to this planet, welcome, the drugs get dearer the longer you stay. If you thought Ferrari had a championship winning car from 1997 until 2006 you may have been partaking of some very serious chemicals .... just say no
