I watched it for 35 seconds, at which point the dramatic and wimpy left leg kick and annoying nasal past-through voice overcame my patience and curiosity.
He seems pretty happy. If you know what you're getting into and you don't expect investment quality, why the hell not?
With all those miles and salvaged title ...........and still get 100k. I know my 458 is never going to drop below what I paid for it. Life is good.
Hey Tyler, the Wizard is gonna give you the biggest repair bill yet. He had better pad the office floor for safety because you're gonna pass out.
I thought you were tying your shoe, but it’s a pretty good pose, I guess. I look forward to what the Wheeezard has to say…
I met Tyler at the Barrett Jackson auction in Las Vegas last year. I was looking at a few cars before they were going up the block and bumped into Tyler. Super nice guy and grateful he spoke to me for a few minutes. I’m a fan and I shared his video with my SA when I took my car in for the brake recall yesterday.
I don't know the guy, and this is the first video of his that I watched. But man, you guys seem really harsh on the guy! I must be missing something? I think it was an interesting video of someone who really has a lot of guts. Who knows, if he gets lucky and everything is fairly minor, he may have gotten the deal of the century on a Ferrari that he can drive, and enjoy, and not worry about. He may even be able to get every penny back after enjoying it for a few years. To each their own. I personally am super anal (to a fault) and wanted a car that was in essentially showroom condition, but I think I would have also enjoyed a "hooptie", so I can use it in sketchy weather, or high risk club events where there is a lot of public attention with kids, etc. leaning on and touching the cars etc.
That did seem like a harsh introduction to FChat. Welcome to FChat @tylerh860. Enjoy the 458 Spider and the glorious NA V8.
Been watching him for years, as well as many of the other car guy youtube videos. I think he is the best of them. Maybe go back and watch his earlier videos so you know what he is all about.
LOL, I didn't know you were a part of this forum and thread! I would have been more cordial and welcoming if you were. However, the leg up "pose" on the car, prompted a negative reaction from me and reluctance to watch it. Now at the suggestion of others, I did watch it and other than the leg kick in the beginning (lol), I like the concept and your review. Going forward, I suggest leaving the "leg work" to mean car research only.
The steel brakes indicate the car was likely heavily tracked. This is a common upgrade for people who track their cars. AVH failure is likely an issue with the EPB cable in the rear bumper, probably just hung up. The window button is a $150 part and snaps in new. Glove box switch is likely just a switch failure, another $150 or so. This car can be sorted for probably under $1k (except the airbag issue). I’d take off all the fake carbon. I wish @tylerh860 well on with his 458. I’m glad he got the car as opposed to going to a different channel whose name rhymes with formal.
Always find him quite likeable and entertaining to watch. So much better than the coked up drama queens so many youtuber are.
There are a few but let me clarify, ''coked up presentation style'' is what I meant...what they do behind doors is none of my business
The CEL coming on when you start the car and then going off after less than a minute is completely normal and all 458 should do this. In the video Tyler says this is one of the issues….it is normal for the 458. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
