I love Ferraris and I plan on owning one in the future.

But for the time being, where can I go to atleast get driven in one or even step inside in one and turn it on.

I’m not sure if dealerships will let me, since they like to preserve the condition of Ferraris for as long as possible.

I dont think there is any such thing as test driving a Ferrari, you either want one, or you dont, if you want one, find what you like the best, and open up your wallet, its that simple. With that being said, if your buying one for status, please dont, leave it for someone who has the Italian Mark running through their veins, we have enough of those owners already, and frankly, its just a waste of a car .

    Thank you

Welcome! There are a number of exotic car drive experiences where you can rent a Ferrari on or off the track! That's a great way to get in.

Try to find the local events, cars and coffee, concours etc and talk to the owners (not about sitting in the car or driving it) and you will build friendships. When I was a kid/young man I went to many events and got to meet many owners some of whom became friends and they would invite me to go to the events as a passenger.

I learned a lot about the 430 from watching all the YouTube videos prior to buying mine.
It’s not like being in one, but you can familiarize yourself with the car.

If you are too young, or too broke, to rent one, then become active in your local Exotics club. You dont usually need to own one to attend gatherings. Once you show you are a decent person, maybe an owner will let you have a ride.

Of course there is. Dealers actually do offer test drives but they will have to qualify you. And how they do that is different based on you and them. But you can definitely test drive a Ferrari (At least the regular prod cars).

I also like Lambos, and the Gallardo is most likely the next car I will buy, and with a 6 speed manual gearbox as well. With that being said , Ferrari and Lambo should both be ashamed of these suvs they are making, thats the real insult . Its a snowflake c********* world we are living in. No matter how good life gets for me, I will not be sad when my tour of duty is over.

    Thank you

I had a neighbor who never even seen one in person until I moved next door to him. His dream was to sit in the drivers seat, so when he sat down and I put the keys in his hand and told him to drive me to the gas station. He teared up. Amazing to see someone have a check mark on a bucket list item. That was truly a humbling experience for me.

The first time I ever drove a Ferrari was on a track rental. I enjoyed it so much it made me question if owning one and paying for it on a monthly/yearly basis was worth it, especially with how differently I'd have to drive it on the street. Most people don't live somewhere you can rent a Pista and drive it on track whenever you want for however long you want though.

Careful what you wish for. Anyway, this place is near there - https://www.ultimaterentals.com.au/vehicle/ferrari-488-gtb/

The Macan/Cayenne/Taycan doesn't make the Cayman GT4 or 911 GT2 RS or heck - the 918 any less thrilling.

Ironically, the only luxury brands that offer an exotic (Lotus/Porsche) that make/plan SUVs are the only ones that offer something you long for...

    6 speed.

If we are to stay with Italians, - The Tonale and the Stelvio didn't stop the Guilia QF 6 Speed. Aston Martin's Vantage or DBs will only survive if they can actually do something; that is make money.

The Grecale doesn't prevent the MC20 nor the Gran Turismo, on the contrary - the survival of the MC20 or GT is exactly dependent on the Grecale's success.

If you seek purity, Ferrari has forgone that long ago the moment they put 2 additional seats in the 250 or when they installed a slushbox in the 400 - Your sentiments might be better suited with a smaller brand such as SSC. The only patterned snow crystal I see is folks that laud total distillation, yet are the first ones to stop at a particular proof less than 200.

I have test driven Ferraris in NZ at local dealer.
If you’re over here, contact me and I’ll take you for a Ferrari experience in an 812.

So close. I would take you up on the offer, but I’m in Australia. :/

Do you have an 812 or do you just test drive it? I wonder if they’ll get mad if I just test drive it and don’t buy it...

Really? You would buy a Ferrari without test driving to, if you were stuck between a few different models? I must be in the minority then because I test drove a few different models before I settled on a 348

Test driving the different models you are stuck one would help you decide which one you want.

Lots of great suggestions/responses on here as usual -

One thing that takes place here in Colorado from time to time at Ferrari Of Denver (so I assume it may take place at other Ferrari dealers across the country) is an event where proceeds go to the charity. For example, FoD occasionally does one for the American Heart Association where they line up 3 or 4 Red models and you can sign up/sign the release and pay (I think last time it was $50 per drive/car) and take them out. The first time I did it they had a F355F1 and a 360F1 so I was able to compare the cars and F1 transmissions (ended up buying a manual 355 - but that's another story/thread :) ) - The last time I did it they had an F12, 488 and Cali - I would imagine the next one would have an 812, F8 and Porto. It is kind of a cool way to "test drive" the cars and know the money goes to a good cause.

You might check with your local Dealer to see if they have anything scheduled of this nature.

    Just a suggestion - Cheers :)

Our local dealer has basically said you can drive whichever one you want once the sales contract is signed, or a deposit is left.

I personally want to experience a ferrari v12, ive driven 8 and 10cyl cars from many brands but never a v12.
I want to experience it to give me some encouragement and determine if this is something i want to work towards, or just stick to the v8 mid engine cars

Driven all the latest, Gran Turismo couldn’t be truer label for the V12s. I prefer the V12 on longer trips and V8/V6 hybrid for sportier sessions. Just depends on you activity, destination, and mood. The smoothness of a V12 on a freeway is something every car person needs to experience once.

it wasn’t until I did that for some time did I fully “get it” on the V12s.
