My dealer currently only taking list of interested buyers until official September announcement. He claims no knowledge of type engine, pricing, or anything further. Acknowledged that company sent emails but he has not accepted any deposits or orders generated from those who received emails.

Your dealer I think is not telling you truth or has no clue.
Top and vip has put the deposit down 2-3 weeks ago and that alone make everyone wonder how many v12s they can produce because the demand has gone through the roof.

They all guess at some point Ferrari will announce numbers about how many v12s and all those who deposited in line beyond each countries v12s allocation number will be guided into ‘lesser’ ones.

1000% correct. Most that were emailed that Wednesday, put down the deposit by day’s end.

Ferrari is like trick or treating at Halloween, if you ring the bell at the house and no one answers you move on to the next house, you won’t go back to check if s9meone will answer a second ring. A Ferrari invitation is rarely or probably never not accepted no matter what the model is. Just my $.02

Definitely not acknowledged by the dealer that deposits have taken by them from anyone receiving factory emails. Appears a Chinese wall is dividing orders solicited from factory and others inquiring and being placed on list pending announcement date and deposit acceptance. Thanks for your input.

This dealer appears to act as if the factory invitations do exist they are beyond the control of the dealer and therefore they are dealing solely with collecting buyer interest they can convert to orders with deposits after announcement. Bottom line is no email, no ability to order now and dealer doesn’t control factory invitations; therefore they can’t accept deposits from others.

Something tells me we're going to see V12 Purosangues as part of limited run collections alongside 812c, TdFs, F40s, etc. Can't wait for the first few to be delivered.

So, the reality is that the dealers cannot accept orders until the car is released. The dealers can't enter an order into the system because there is no way to do so. JLjr's dealer is telling him the truth. In fact, most dealers will not accept a deposit for a car they cannot order. Any dealer who does accept a deposit on a PS is accepting a deposit for a car he cannot order today (and may never be able to order without a factory allocation).

I got the email and I am 100% assured of getting the first PS from my dealer. But nobody has asked me for a deposit or to sign anything (because there is nothing official to sign and no way to enter an order into the system). I'm certainly not running over to my dealer with a check for a car that does not exist and cannot actually be ordered.

There is so much hyperbole and BS on this site about orders it's astounding.

Absolutely! The demands are beyond the roof and dealer will can only put in orders for people with the invitations initially. The v12 are not to be discussed unless asked by a customer.

Well, I am not lying at all.
Just because some dealer has different approach doesn’t make my dealer or I am making up stories.

Deposit is into dealer account so that they can line the customers up.

First Top then highest Vips to lowest, the phone calls has been made and deposit is put into dealer’s account.

Those who lined up had to sign no sell for 6 months.

Also, those who wanted more than 2 PSs on order including me, was declined.

How many among us will get the v12s are up to Ferrari since they will make a call og how many will be allocated into that specific dealership.

I also apologise about my claim that someone’s dealer is lying. It is unfair and I am sorry for accusing.

The car does not exist in Modis. So any dealer who takes a deposit today is essentially saying - please add to my working capital and perhaps one day I'll be able to order a car for you. LOL

Couldn’t have said it better myself!

Nothing wrong with the practice as long as the dealer delivers on allocation and delivery time, and you are comfortable with giving them rent free money (Tesla style). Dealers taking advances deposits should be transparent about the mechanics behind, in spirit of good business ethics.

However, delivery time been a recurring problem, therefore a deposit contract for a non existing model should include estimates delivery, so you have leverage against the dealer in case of delay. Where I live, it is a legal matter if the car is delayed, and they must compensate you economically. As a client, I check my dealer’s balance sheets and liquidity of ownership before placing and advanced deposit like this, to make sure there is no chance I’m bankrolling a bad business. If metrics are bad, demand bank guarantee. I know for a fact dealers with bad numbers try to demand as much as 2x deposit sum for cars, so up to 50% of a deposit goes towards the dealer’s temporary working capital, until the car is invoiced. Even a Ferrari dealer can go bust.

The deposit for a Ferrari is not something that the dealer sits on. The initial deposit goes straight to the factory to lock a build slot in the clients name. Only when the deposit is visible in factory accounts will a car be on order, and initial modis status will appear on your client card. Deposit two in some cases after spec is to confirm production of car to client. Believe there is only one deposit required for most recent models. If a dealer ever tells your a deposit is something they handle, red flag! This is a factory matter.

Also to those saying “‘No problem” from their dealer ordering a V12. Wait until Ferrari distributes the allocations and see if it’s still a drop-in car to order…

I could be wrong, but odds are pretty low on me being right.

That is correct. The car cannot be ordered and the dealer cannot guarantee delivery as they have no idea how many build slots they will get

I am getting one and I have not been asked to place a deposit. Which by the way was the case with every purchase I have ever made. Deposits were placed when the order system opened and the dealer had confirmed the allocation. At least that is how my dealer operates in Switzerland

I can confirm this as my experience also. How to explain the differences? Maybe it has to do with different markets?
