I didn't expect such enthusiasm "here", and I am again very surprised that you can believe the marketing, with all the background. So, for some to be quiet, the PS is, remains and will be V12. I don't know where this hybrid V6 fantasy comes from. It was one of the choices on the table when it was designed, as was the V 8 hybrid. both were refused, that s why the V 12 and the associated name. From 2025, it will be Ferrari's first full electric car.
Thanks for explaining, makes sense. So now it seems ridiculous to put a $200k deposit on a Valhalla … a car that doesn’t exist yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Despite the appearance this week of a new mule with a different camouflage the previous black one with the extended rear wasn't abandoned by Ferrari and has been spotted again in Maranello. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for confirming V12 only and some of the enthusiasm here should have been expected. At a small GS reunion there was wide enthusiasm for the PS - simply for the fact it should be a Ferrari everyone can climb into. From a purity perspective many see no difference between a 812 or PS both showcase incredible marketing and engineering talent. Sent from my LG-G710 using Tapatalk
How many “VIP” clients do you think Ferrari invited via the email to preorder the PS? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know directly of about 15-20 people who received emails. My estimate is 1000-2000 VIPs. People who have ordered most of the current lineup. A Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Wondering if this will impact the lifecycle of the unsssisted V12 PS? Could the V12 version go full hybrid within 2 years of release? https://www.nhtsa.gov/press-releases/usdot-announces-new-vehicle-fuel-economy-standards-model-year-2024-2026
Yes. You have “real” deposits for real cars and you have “pseudo-deposits” allegedly to get you a place in line by some dealers who 1. Have no input as to whom gets a slot and 2. Don't know how many or even if they will get any allotments at all…… Could be worse- remember when you had to buy a used car to get in line and wait 3-5 years for a car………. The demand for the PS is high. Extremely high! I spoke with my guy a couple days ago- just stopped by as I hadn’t been to town in a while & was in the neighborhood. Demand not only from established customers but even more so to those new to the marque. He’s never seen such an overwhelming interest in any Ferrari. The phone is ringing off the wall with non clients/outsiders inquiring about the PS. So at least here in America the demand for SUV overwhelmingly overrides and in fact negates any notion of tradition simply because it is an SUV. Me. I like SUVs and trucks either of which are my preferred means of highway transportation in Texas. (Put one of those hundred gallon diesel tanks in the bed and that dual solid axle, leaf-springed F250 rides as if your floating on air). Unlike many here with more analytical reasons, I’m just immature and buy cars I like- life’s too short to drive an ugly car. So I’ll reserve judgement on the PS until I see it. If I like it I may try to get one but most likely not. I guess in retrospect I shouldn’t have turned down & ordered a GTS in order to separate myself from the commoners……oh well. As I get older, my SF is all I need or want for that matter. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Instant and very interesting photograph of the current Ferrari clientele! Just the image, no basis. Impossible to interpret it otherwise with a car of more than 2 tons, which has no sporting vocation in accordance with the brand and from which one could acquire many more interesting cars for the price. Sad...
There are different levels to VIP with Ferrari. Initially only Top and VVIP (top 10% VIP) were asked for deposits - or so I am told.
No, I was not joking or being sarcastic. I think the latest spy shots reveal a striking vehicle. You can clearly see that this is not an ordinary SUV. And that's a good thing, because a Ferrari should never be or look ordinary. So at least they are doing something correct in all this nonsense SUV-madness. And that was my point. Like I've stated many times before in this thread: I am not a fan of the SUV. It's not a car for me and I simply do not like what they are doing to the brand. But it's important to be open minded and see things from a different point of view. So even though you and I hate the SUV, we can't deny the fact that this will be a truly special car for what it is.
I was told the same. The dealer also called prior to the email to say this is what’s coming and this is the process. It may vary slightly from dealer to dealer but the gist was Ferrari corporate compiled a list and sent to dealers that those people were being offered the car.
So is it a crossover? Regardless, for the purists I disagree with many here. The PR love it or hate it, goes back to the essence of Ferrari: “I don't sell cars; I sell engines. The cars I throw in for free since something has to hold the engines in.” Again, some are beautiful, others I wouldn’t shake a stick at, but that is what makes a Ferrari a Ferrari….. haha someone went to town with a sharpie on the wheels Those look absolutely huge, at least in the back! I guess they dont really have a choice if they want to fill the massive wheel arches.
The image gives a rough idea of what the Purosangue's rear could be, although the expectation is that the real one will be visually much more appealing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
