As Australia now has no automotive car manufacturing, whats the point of an ACT And government department
especially ones that introduce ADRs that basically are not even required in Europe until 2024. ie ADR85?

It gives an entire government department a big hole to throw money into - makes them feel important. What really pisses me off is large 4WD's with perfectly good tail light clusters, but don't have the tick of approval, so they're allowed to put an entirely new set in a replacement bumper which do comply, and disconnect the OEM ones. I've nearly come to grief quite a few times, not noticing the low-down bumper brake lights, because my attention is on the enormous factory ones 2 feet away.

For his opinion - his job is to tell me what's coming up. Sometimes he needs to yell.
