. Honda are essentially leasing Red Bull their engineers to work for them, and assemble and maintain the engines.
Sainz had to change steering wheels and he hit anit-stall 2x off the start on hard tires. Bad luck for him all the way around.
Binotto: Today was great. I think today we have great satisfaction but we know that every single race can be different but let's enjoy today. Team work - engineering, set up, drivers all good. Start of the weekend wasn't good because the car wasn't balanced. Bino on Sainz: It's certainly pretty disappointing today. We understand that he is pretty disappointed. He has been very fast here on Friday and Saturday morning. He could have gone a good qualifying.
Of course he's going to say that. If Horner admits the Honda PU has issues, which will take time to sort, Ferrari will smell blood and move to go to 11 as soon as possible, and gain tons of points on Red Bull that won't be easy to gain back in the later parts of the season.

Dominant performance from Leclerc; a grand slam Grand Prix, been a decade since a Ferrari driver had one. Imola next, which should be even better for the F1-75 and a track that Charles excels in.
[Scarbs] Red Bull confirm fuel leak on Max's car. Not the same issue as the Bahrain fuel lock. On the RBPT (Honda) engine, the only external fuel line comes from the tank to the high pressure pump on the engine. This may be the area of the failure. {highlighted area) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Shades of 2005 and Renault vs McLaren. Once Kimi was 3 full races behind Alonso at the Nürburgring, it was all but over. Obviously we've got 20 races left, but the Ferrari is reliable, while Red Bull are having to push massively. If they have another race or two where Max breaks down and Leclerc can stretch out that lead to 60+ points, it would become too big of a hole for Max to climb out of, without serious issues at Ferrari. It's already going to be difficult.
Well I for one am very happy. Would have enjoyed a 1, 2...but Carlos had bad luck in Q3...and then shot himself in the foot with a bad start and his day went quickly down hill from there. I'm sure no one feels worse about it than him. But great news is how dominant the Ferrari was in race pace. In the start and after both safety cars, Max was right on Charles' tail...and Charles was able to just quickly pull away and control the race. The Ferrari, with the exception of what appears to be brutal porpoising, handled everything the first three tracks could throw at it. And the drivers seem to be able to handle the violent up and down, and hopefully it might be solved by Imola. The one concern I have is how strong a showing Mercedes made after the first two races. No matter how you slice it, 3rd and 4th is a big improvement. Both drivers made great starts and I would caution Ferrari and RB not to ignore them. They have not given up...and they have shown in the past they can recover and even win both championships after making a bad early season showing. Every race Ferrari has to be better, because everyone else is working toward that goal. The poor showing of the other two Ferrari engine teams also concerns me. They made great showings in the tests and first two races, but have now fallen back. Haas and Alfa both need boots in the butt and a warning that they aren't earning their engines. I know I'm beating a dead horse but I would still like to see Sauber-Andretti-Alfa Romeo. Great weekend. '
Mercedes weren't strong. They were finished 25 seconds us. I don't get people being concerned with them, but not Red Bull, who have shown they can match our pace. Melbourne isn't exactly a power track. Alfa Romeo still looked good. Bottas scored and Zhou almost scored some points if not for the strategy. Haas seemed to not have the downforce needed to keep up during the race.
But, it didn’t fail last year? Maybe it is just cranked up to the max as they have worked out that straight line speed in the only way they can keep up with us? I don’t know, but it is a nice thought.
The F1-75 seems to porpoise much more severely than the RB. And yet it still corners faster and can deliver consistently fast laps while minimizing tire degradation. Just imagine if the team can minimize or even cure the porpoising! A dream season thus far, even with Carlos’ early struggles. I’m wide wake (at 4:30 am!) and still excited from the victory!
