Brundle of SKY today this is the opening statement!! - https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/24096/12587907/martin-brundle-charles-leclerc-and-ferrari-deliver-australian-gp-statement-as-max-verstappens-title-defence-stutters

--Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have really aced these new for 2022 F1 cars. The Ferrari F1-75 is a benign and very fast car suitable for every circuit so far including Barcelona, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the revised Melbourne layout.

Leclerc has stepped up to a higher plane, delivering speed with consistency and seemingly always a half a step ahead of this car, rather than close to the edge of the car's limit and the occasional heavy shunt as we've seen in the past. The new regulations suit him and he's developed confidence and increased self-belief.
Two pole positions, two wins, a second, and three fastest laps in three races rather confirms that.--

Mercedes are the 4th topic in his assessment in the link. He certainly is not Mercedes focused here.

His last paragraph will be fun to see - "Much of the vast Australian crowd had ditched their Red Bull merchandise for McLaren papaya caps in honour of 'their' man Ricciardo. I wonder how the grandstands in Imola at the next race will look."

Disagree. I'd much rather watch it from RTL, ORF or SRG, but I can't receive these stations in the US.

Crofty and his Lewis only focus is gag inducing.

Before Sky we had the three guys in the US and while not everything was great, at least there wasn't this single focus on one driver.

It annoys me as well. It's one of the reasons I hated watching the dutch broadcast because it was Max and Max only. So even though I'm a huge fan of his, I do like to follow what else is going on.

Sky broadcast is the best but it could be so much better. F1 themselves can really do some good by binning Will Buxton and have Rosberg, Coulthard or Button full time (last one I doubt would really do it). I find Jolyon Palmer a surprisingly good commentator. He'd be great with Brundle but I doubt Brundle would leave Sky.

Right now Buxton ruins the F1 broadcast for me and Crofty the Sky one. Also Karun Chandhok is fantastic as well.

Each presentation team has weakness and strength. Its never perfect. I like the production quality of SKY F1 overall.

Agree about Karun—very impressed with his insightful comments. He got the Sainz steering wheel issue spot on.

Also, I was going to comment that good form at Oz didn’t necessarily translate to success at other tracks as it is (was?) some kind of outlier but Karun posted the same on Twitter. Mind you, Lando said about the same about the McLarens’ performance.

Channel 4 in the U.K. is ok, but riven with endless commercials.
    Also, very long for Highlights.
If you are showing highlights why not just show the race, not the qualifying story and the obligatory montages?

Safety car drama once again, RUS was lucky and HAM wasn't, same for various other drivers.

    Bottom line: FERRARI on top!

Russell was the only driver who lucked out on that one. There was a nice battle forming between Ham and Perez before that (with both passing each other during their stints). I was a little surprised to see Perez not take the fight back to Perez after being passed.

I think Hamilton was told NOT to race his teammate. They later said "overheating issues", but I think Merc were avoiding an early season clash.

Anyone else feel the AUS gp, despite all of it's updates, was boring af? Not sure if opening up that 4th DRS zone would've changed anything, but I bet they'll try to push that through again next year.

Engine parity breeds DRS trains. Thats what I think we observe. Certainly in the midpack group.

We toiled for so long to see a Ferrari driver on the podium, our flag fly high, the crowd covered in the sea of red and the Italian anthem played during the podium ceremony. Will never get bored of it.
