    Macarbon or carbonio replacements?

I just ordered factor extended carbon paddles - they were only $1500.

maybe it’s a chance to upgrade?

This has happened to mine also; just on driver's side. Have no idea how it happened. I have four of these chips and am looking for a solution also.

Since it is on the edge, I wonder if you can just match it up with a close touch up paint, and put a tiny bit of paint on it (I honestly think it will look fine). That may make it invisible enough, where you would have to look closely to see it. If you are willing to replace with a new piece, it can't hurt to try, just in case it satisfies you enough to leave it alone, if it looks like crap, you lose the $8 for the can of paint.. Maybe you could spray a little puddle in a glass jar (plastic or foam will dissolve and make a huge mess), and use a .8mm brush to apply a TINY amount of paint. If it is the same charcoal color as the diffuser, here is the paint color that is pretty close:

Just remember carbon fiber chips just as Easily. I have to be very careful with anything I have on me including my phone when I’m in my 16M. Keys, phones Anything can cause a chip in the inside door. In many ways I wish there was less carbon fiber in the high use areas.

If you want to refinish the existing part (as opposed to replacement/upgrade to CF) I would look for a professional airbrush artist to do the refinishing.

High precision airbrushes like the Iwata CM-C Plus would be what I would use for the best match to the existing finish.

These airbrushes are machined to extremely high tolerances and are capable of the ultra-high precision work this repair requires.

A professional airbrush artist can also provide colour matching to get the closest match for the existing finish. Good luck and best wishes.

    Cheers!

Then get a can of paint very close to the colour.

Shake well then spray some in a glass jar. Then pipette some into the applicator pen.

    Practice on an old car.

You need to fill in the chip. Brushed just dont do it.

You will make a mess of it if you respray it as the leather grip needs to be ripped off.

Trust me as soon as you get some grey on the chip it will disappear. Your are seeing it because the base is white.

If you are not confident go to an experienced detailer.

BTW a very good shop that do PPF should be experts in this.
