It’s looking that way so far this season. Russell has been out driving him.

    Not really,
I would say for now he’s competitive compared to him.
    Which is already a lot!
Second half of season will be more telling about Hamilton mindset with an uncompetitive car and a strong teammate at the same time.

When another driver manages their F1 career to produce more than 100 wins, they will gain equal or more respect than Lewis. Until then, he is the only man in the history of the sport to build a career in F1 successful enough to win over 100 times.

The rules and regulations in F1 have to make it so the driver can achieve 100 plus wins in his career. I hope we don't see a repeat regarding the formula and rules and regulations of 2014 thru 2020. It wasn't a competition to say the least.

If we use WDC and wins as a metric then Vettel is the better driver than Senna and prost.

    Yes,
But when visiting the Ferrari galleria in Maranello and seeing his 126C2 I got emotional.
    Wonder why ?
Because in the end men stories are more important than cold numbers.
    This is only my opinion.

He was amazing but I much prefer his son ;)
I screamed of joy in 97 when he beat Schumacher.
Schumacher was the biggest vilain for me and I could never cheer for him but respected his greatness.
I grew to like the man better in his last 3 seasons

He wasn’t anything spectacular, can’t take away his achievements as results speak for themselves but talent wise , he is average at best . I am not sure if you watched him race at Lemans , he was very slow and I would say very poor at setup , BAR made zero progress when he was their star driver.

He’s speaking of Gilles, not Jacques. Agree about the son’s prospects, but Gilles was taken far too soon.

Hakkinen: 'Sulky' Hamilton will be thinking about switching teams

Two-time Formula 1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen believes Lewis Hamilton will already be thinking about trying to line up a switch of teams, following Mercedes' poor start to 2022.

Mika Hakkinen reckons Lewis Hamilton is in a "tough spot" to try to claim a record-breaking eighth Drivers' title, due to Mercedes falling away from the very front of the Formula 1 field.

The two-time F1 World Champion also believes the arrival of George Russell will only be adding to Hamilton's current stress levels, and that Hamilton is likely very annoyed by the current situation.

While Mercedes are currently second in the Constructors' Championship, the W13 is not yet at the level of Ferrari's F1-75 or Red Bull RB18.

With a tight budget cap restricting a team's ability to spend their way out of trouble, Mercedes face a tough challenge to claw back the gap to the front.

All of these ingredients mean an unhappy Hamilton, according to Hakkinen.

Russell putting Hamilton in a "tough spot"
Hakkinen thinks the arrival of Russell, the 2018 Formula 2 champion, has led to a very different feeling at Mercedes compared to the dynamic established by Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

"It's a tough spot for Lewis, it's obvious," Hakkinen said in a special video for Unibet.

"Russell didn't come there to be the number two or to lose. He's there to give his best and [is] working to become World Champion one day. He's not bowing down to a seven-time World Champion.

"The last race in Australia was a tough spot for Lewis, really tough. The team naturally wants the drivers to finish the race. They got the result – not the result they hope for, but still good points for the team.

"But I'm sure Lewis is still annoyed by the situation. It's hard to be beaten by George. I'm afraid this will be a really difficult season for Lewis."

Hakkinen pointed out that Mercedes' current travails won't be as disheartening for the new arrival as they would be for Hamilton.

"It's already difficult for Mercedes, but especially for Lewis," the Finn said.

"George comes from a team with little to no success – he had some good qualifying results but not in the races. All these achievements with Mercedes are new to him, everything feels super good.

"For Lewis, this is a disaster. And, with George being ahead, it's even worse."

Quite possible. Will have to see where we are in 4,5 races. If Russell is ahead then it’s likely… so far I don’t see Ham fading like vettel with Charles

Nonsense. The only teams that would make sense are Ferrari and RBR and neither of them need or want him. Few(or no) race wins will tarnish his GOAT mythology. If he steps away from Mercedes he will be out of the cockpit for good.

What’s amusing to me about the GOAT mythology is that none of this comes from HIM.
Maybe he is fake humble but I never heard the guy proclaiming he is this or that.
His fans? Sure , the British media? sure but not him and I give him credit for that given all the freaking social media interview and magazines out there, I don’t recall him declaring anything about his status

Oh he is aware but unlike a lebron James claiming it he gives you a political answer… the buzz comes with the Territory, not his fault he had the best car and won a lot
