    Hi,

after missing out on another 348 I am looking at this one:
    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-ferrari-348ts/

I was wondering if anyone knows this car or if there are any red flags
The mileage seems very low, the last belt service was 5 years ago.

Is there a DIY to convert the mousetrap belts to Euro-spec seat belts?

    Thanks
    Chris

There's a thread on here somewhere for doing the seatbelt conversion. I did it myself. Super simple, reversible, and easily one of the best things you can do. Made the car so much more livable IMO.

Essentially, just buy a couple of belts and covers from a f355. (They're usually available on ebay.) Everything is bolt-on. If you have doubts about the condition of the used belts themselves, there are many places you can send them to to have new belt material installed.

Yes on the mice to standard, at least 2 threads out here with the belt buckle on either side down depending on how you do it.

Looks really nice but it comes from the snow belt area (nj, pa and then did time in Illinois) all pics show typical cosmetic damage no big deal paint gauge I guess normal for a hand painted car might have touch up here or there no biggie looks well kept

“CARB” certificate aka emissions test last pass is 2016 and before that 1999 was it tested lately????

    ———————Off topic —————-
I do have a question about emissions in California it seems that some cars out there fail emissions and the valve guides are usually the cause — is there any Proof to that or Am I just seeing it that way ????? I know there can be other things too just seems that way to what I have read —————

doesn’t look like the dealer is hiding anything a-lot of pics from multiple angles which is nice

There’s a few more days left and the price shown is not going to be that at closing lol —-for sure—- I would venture to say in this market looking that good with paperwork being conservative low 75 to high 90k at closing
Who ever bids will probably think major service as per records shown and small cosmetic work not a lot to be done to have sort it out driver

CARB/smog failures occur for 2 reasons: either you have non-compliant equipment or your smog stuff is failing. Mostly I've seen it due to engine misfire. Make sure your car is really hot when testing. Make sure your cats are working - these 30 year old units are old school ceramic units and probably not very effective. Check for fuel leaks into the intake manifold. Make sure the MAFs are dialed in. Clean plugs and all ignition wire connections. There's a whole lot of stuff that can fail you at the smog station, even if your sympathetic inspector ignores your modern cats and/or headers replacement. Heck, even your EPROMs in your ECUs can age out.
