Ok, lunatic I live with wants an SLK200 coupe or similar If anyone of you ratbags has a good one for a reasonable price with reasonable kms send me a PM please I see they range from $20-40k but I'm not shore they're good cars (the supercharger concerns me) Apparently needed for the seat warmer because of our "severe" cold weather here in the sub-tropics I think it's just the "cool" open look someone is after Thanks Homicidal Maniac
Mate of mine had a SLK350 for several years and recently swapped it for the AMG55 (I think) version. He loves them, and I must say the AMG one sounds pretty good. No, he’s not a hairdresser.
We have a 2001 SLK320 with a stick. I think it was the last year that a manual was available. It's a blast to drive but is rather small for me. My wife drives it everywhere. Runs great although the Mercedes dealer here is totally clueless on how to work on a stick so we use an indi. If your buddy is a small guy, it's a great car. If he's over 6', his knees are going to hate it.
My buddy is a 5 foot nothing nurse so perfect for her little body I'm more worried about maintenance costs for her
I had a look at one for one of my daughters once. Roof mechanism can be problematic, think it's an issue with the hydraulic pump?? This particular car had a bad vibration and the balance shaft is another common issue. Ended up buying a C200k, same engine, which eventually started leaking through the cam shafter adjuster magnets and caused havoc by seeping oil into the engine ECU. Sold it after that. I'd be inclined to avoid a Merc from that era. Considered a Z4? Nicer looking car IMO
Very ordinary motor ,having said that they go for ever if not thrashed . Morrrettti don't be a car badge snob, buy an MX5.
So, other than that they're ok ? I've never trusted Mercs ....... saying that I just got told by Marc that the 355 needs new engine and gearbox mounts AGAIN !! FMD (tm Gary) they were only replaced in 2019 !!
She's about the pose and doesn't like BMW (Bob Marley and the Whalers ) I'm a BMW man if I go German, better all round car for me .... I'll try and swing her that way .... or maybe a Holden ute
We were going to trade in Chloe's Evoque for a BMW convertible later this year but that may be on hold now depending on how everything else goes. I hope we can as I really like those cars. The E93 I had ten years ago was a great car even if it had the wrong engine.
I think Neralee should get a Cobra replica with a 454 engine ..... **** the planet and climate change
Actually I think the new Boxster is a pretty good looking car. As is the Spyder version. Frankly better looking than the latest 911, which looks like an overweight fat-arsed cockroach.
Yep I like the Boxster Cayman cars they’re incredibly good value and even earlier cars very reliable and nippy too boot(no supercharger to worry about)
Bugger you girls, I'd take that car in a heartbeat .......... if I could afford it, one of the prettiest cars in the flesh Ferrari has made Pat and I approved at the launch lasy year ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
