Good; I have been wanting a video or screen capture of a GPS in a Euro K at full tilt on the Autobahn for oh...only 25 years to show what it could really do once and for all. Hint, Germany is not far from where KHAMSIN CINQUANTA will take place in 15 months, three hours drive. How about it after the event?
I just bought a set of bolts and hard washers from McGrath in the UK for £620 plus tax if that helps. They’re very nicely finished. All the best. Mark.
What are you measuring with the dial indicator? (The indicator is graduated in .01 mm?) Rotational runout of the large gear? If so, what is the runout? Where did you find the specs for the allowable runout? Or are you using some gear manufacturer's industry standards?
Good on you!! I’ll console myself that the shipping cost and import duty for me would have been HUGE!!
Hi Mark--- I hear you! FWIW---McGrath has been a no-fly zone for me for many many years! Hope you are getting the work done somewhere sane. Good luck and all the very best!
I won’t lead the k thread astray with Ghibli business, but a picture shortly on the ‘other’ thread! M
AM120-202 on the Maserati club France stand at the major Retromobile salon in Paris yesterday. A very rare and stunning color. It is owned by a major player in the vintage racing world and was restored by Roda Classica, a very fine restoration shop in Portugal founded by Carlos Tavares, yes the President of Stellantis the automotive group that reunites Fiat Maserati Alfa etc with Peugeot Citroen etc. A major and very efficient CEO and also a true enthusiast vintage racer. Not his car but that of a major client. I only know of another K in this colour, 024 currently being restored in Germany. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is "Verde Medio" a Ferrari color. I spoke to the "major player" who owns the car and he confirmed that his car was originally in silber with black interior.
It was owned before by a German in the south of France who sold it to PP. It is identical or extremely similar color wise to 024 tested by Emerson Fittipaldi in 1974 for Quattroruote magazine in Italy.
I have an acquaintance locally here who owns a 400i in that color or something pretty damn close. Nice color.
Here is 024 in 1974 when tested by then 28 year old World champion Emerson Fittipaldi in Quattroruote, Italy's main car monthly. As mentioned extremely similar color. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is an unknown one in the US, Washington State (not DC). Frank Mandarano, your neck of the woods and probably a former client; do you know its chassis number? https://www.instagram.com/p/CaGiwVfFD6p/
Hi Marc we had this one before, around September 2020, I noted Seattle and Prova Motorsports in my tables. I thought you had tried to contact them. Maybe they are more accessible today. Contact: 206 420 8161 . 4022 23RD AVE W, SEATTLE, WA 98199 Best regards Roger
Thank you Roger, I guess with everything going on I did not that time, will aim to do so. -Another unknown one emerges! AM120-294, of which I had never heard of -how about you Roger?-, has appeared in Belgium, it has obviously played sleeping beauty a long time. A restoration shop I know found it and it is now in their premises, they dragged it out of an enclosed trailer on flat tires. According to data supplied today by Fabio Collina of Maserati Classiche date of production was 27/12/77, sold to Staumont the then Belgian importer in Brussels. It is a five speed like 99% of Euro market cars and it seems it has remained in Belgium all its life. It has the additional chassis plate Staumont always put on cars he sold new. Note the Belgian front number plate hanging off. the color new was not blue however but Tabacco which is a beautiful brown. The interior was senape new which is mustard so it seems the interior was redone at some point in a lighter shade. No info on its status as of now but hopefully it will regain its original livery.
For sale in Prag (Praha) Czech Republic, 01.04.2022 https://auto.bazos.cz/inzerat/150523745/maserati-khamsin.php to me that looks like #144
A restored Khamsin found to the street again in Japan https://www.webcg.net/articles/gallery/46123 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great find Roger, here the Google translation for the first photo: All the programs were completed, and the participating vehicles were sent off to the gallery. This is the 1976 "Maserati Khamsin" driven by a female pair. End of quote. Looks like a smooth nose too.
According to a Czech friend of mine the ad says the car is actually in Italy and the number plates, partly hidden, are indeed Italian. I thought it was 110 or 028 but no so it could well be 144.
