    Very nice review Jack.

Ed was unsure about doing the book saying he could not justify the time investment but like many others I encouraged him to do it saying never mind the money do it for the record for passion. Very glad he did, this is one I will buy.

Other than Marcel, has anyone else sprung for the limited edition of AIFL or just been happy with the standard edition.

As far as I know there is no additional content in the limited edition version.

I can see it has a black slipcase and book covers but is it leather covered as well ?

I just got news from our publisher that production costs for our latest annual book, which we produce for customers and the public about innovative companies in Germany, have gone up 50 per cent (!) due to higher costs for paper, energy and transport.

Well, I think we book collectors have to brace ourselves against mad book prices in the near future, because production costs could even further increase. Standard editions soon could have the price of limited editions - as long as they can be published in the first place, because many publishers run out of paper ...

In my opinion the limited edition is not worth the additional cost.

Thank you, Marc. And thanks for encouraging Ed to write it. As I said in the review, it’s important for stories like his to be recorded and preserved.

Octane press say it is leather?

‘This is the exclusive, leather-bound, collector's edition set of volume I and II of Adventures in Ferrari Land.’

So know I'm confused.... so there's a standard edition, limited edition black non leather 1/100 version and a third leather version ?

IMHO there are 2 editions: leather and standard.

The web site is ambiguous. It says “leather bound” which to me means each volume is leather bound. As for the slipcase, it appears to be dark in the picture, so it could be leather as well, although the web site does not specifically say so.

I found the people at Octane Press to be very helpful so if anyone has questions about the limited edition it would be worth contacting them directly.

Agree, I would read leather-bound as just the books at a minimum with the slipcase not a given.

Yes, I just checked mine. The books and the slipcase are leather covered.

    From today's Porter Press newsletter:

"I am thrilled to announce that we are starting work on a large format book on the double-Le Mans-winning Ferrari 250P / 275P to be written by Keith Bluemel."

Keith will be busy for while yet then. He still has the F40 book to finish for Porter Press and the 550 Comp book for GIrardo.
