New wheels, to preserve the original HGTE ones. I’m going to refinish them so they’re the same color as the originals; I don’t like the 3 tone (chrome rim, gun metal and silver spokes)

I agree on the 3-tone part. Not sure I love the bolts making it look like a 3 piece wheel. I think it is a little too busy for the sophistication of the car's design.

    Exactly! Too busy.

If you look closely, they’re exactly the same wheel. Except these say “Oz racing” on the spokes while the OEM HGTE ones say “Oz racing” hidden on the inside of the spokes.

You are correct. They just pop more because of the 3-tone, they kind of look bright next to the rim. On the OEM they don't look bright, they pretty much match.

I like the non original spec of the rims.
I would let them in that spec.

Great photos. Been a long time since I was in the Netherlands during the tulip season. Just as pretty as ever.

Looks in very good condition as you say only 11k miles, looks like sports back boxes fitted?, the tips look bigger and more oval than stock?

I’m not sure what sports back boxes fitted means, sorry I’m learning. BUT there WAS a new IPE innotech valvetronic exhaust installed.

Eh ! no problem Ian - the fitment of the IPE Exhaust makes sense now, so the rear 2 exhaust silencers are not stock OEM. You will have to post a video so we can listen to the sound with valves closed and open?

I liked the wheels on your 599. Is the dark grey challenge wheels a factory option back then?

My car came out of factory with ball polished wheels, but my friend’s earlier 599 has the dark gray wheels since the beginning I think, so I guess it was an option.

Affirmative, also called the emergency brake here in the Americas. Unlike some of our English-speaking friends, we do not activate it at stoplights unless on a very steep hill.
