I'm glad you speak hypothetically. That said, Mid Ohio and Elhart Lake would be great places along with Laguna Seca. I've driven Elhart Lake and it'd be actually an awesome place. But it lacks everything else in regards to infrastructure.

I'm guessing not for long. History has shown that the United States fan enthusiasm for F1 traditionally decreases after the inaugural race.

Watkins Glen, Long Beach, Indianapolis, Sebring, Detroit... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

F1 in the US is like professional soccer in the US. Those who love it always will. Those who don't never will.

    Texas is toast for 2023.

Honestly it’s all marketing stuff… there are so many race tracks which are not on the calendar but should that it doesn’t make sense.
Most of those new tracks have not been very interesting, I’d say Saudi Arabia has been surprising good though

As F1 followers, we have a different perspective than Liberty.

We are interested in challenging tracks providing exciting races, preferably with a bit of history attached to them.

Liberty is constantly looking for new promoters who can afford their fees to expand their business.

“Murder Gardens” to be exact. Yes, that’s what the locals here call it. YouTube it. :)

Lol, that’s our standard daily forecast.

I’m waiting to hear from people who drive there. I can’t imagine the hell that will be. I’ve seen all the drone shots and I don’t see parking. Lol, where do they plan on people parking?

The fake marina is repulsive and to be expected for Miami but at least it’s in line with all the fake people that will be there hashtagging and influencing. :)

Would be nice if they had a great big parking lot… oh, wait, they did. But now it’s a race track, LOL.

Looking at StubHub for tickets and parking passes, it seems that most of the parking will be off-site with transport to the site by shuttle.

Coincidentally travelling to the area and it crossed my mind to attend maybe on Friday but the thought of driving and parking made that idea go away. I can’t even put up with the walking crowd at my home GP, imagine trying to put up with the traffic there.

This is a short term vision i fear.
You don’t build a myth with parking lots races.
    Or with boring tracks.

Why this fake water show? I mean, there are good beaches in Miami. Why not borrow some real water from them and use it? Or treat waste water and use it..
Or rather, they could have left it vacant for this year and come up with something useful later.
Apologies if I sound uninformed or unaware of the technical challenges associated. But I honestly feel if getting water was going to be a challenge, they should have gone for some other design.Something, which is representative of Miami.

Agreed!!! They should have gone Palm Trees galore---> all throughout the race track.

Grid girls clad in 2 piece bikinis(of all races) for each driver.

Bungalows in that area(fake harbor) with an above ground pool and side bar.....again more palm trees.

    .......but what do I know

    Too late Seb lol

Vettel warns F1 can't become too reliant on DRS for passing
Sebastian Vettel thinks Formula 1 will head down the wrong path if overtaking becomes solely reliant on DRS.

    Well, he's absolutely correct.

Cars are able to follow very closely now and for what looks like an entire race without really overheating tyres. Unfortunately drivers are not using opportunities to overtake in non DRS zones because it's not worth the risk. They know they'll get a very powerful DRS so why take any risk overtaking into a corner when you can just press a button and blast by? Even when a sudden opportunity presents itself drivers rarely take it, knowing the DRS is there anyways (and also knowing, if they don't have the 1 second gap they'll be re-passed anyways...so risking the overtake just isn't wise).

It still blows my mind that DRS is in F3/F2 and still implemented in the 2022 formula. So dumb.

Why tyre balance is proving critical to F1 2022 performance swings
Formula 1 teams are finding that managing the balance between the front and rear tyres is proving critical for performance with the new generation of cars.

With the new rule set still in its infancy, teams are still exploring how best to extract the most speed from the latest ground effect machinery.

While a lot of time has been spent up and down on the grid on trying to resolve porpoising issues, some outfits have started getting a proper understanding of what drives other key performance areas.

And one thing they are quickly finding is that the cars are especially sensitive if there is not a good balance between how the tyres are managed across both axles.

Both Red Bull and Ferrari, for example, believes that the performance swing between their cars at the Australian and Emilia Romagna Grands Prix owed everything to the tyres.

In Melbourne, Ferrari got the F1-75 in the perfect window, and Red Bull – in trying to protect the rears – ended up abusing its fronts and that left it adrift of its rival's pace.

At Imola, however, the tables were turned on the two teams. Red Bull hooked up its RB18 up perfectly, while Ferrari didn't manage to do so and, in the sprint, it was Charles Leclerc who suffered the most from front graining.

As Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko said: "We were faster than Ferrari. We got the tyres in the right window and our complete execution, including finding the right balance in the car, was much better than in Australia.

"The difference wasn't that big. We were only one to two tenths faster in terms of pure pace. We just had better tyre management. What went wrong for us in Melbourne, happened to Ferrari this time. They suffered from graining much earlier than we did because of the balance in the car."

Williams head of vehicle performance Dave Robson believes that when teams show a great turn of speed in races, it's likely due to them hitting the sweet spot with the tyre temperatures.
