    There are houses for $1.50 in Sicily but I don't think the 355 would be welcome there

    What are the pitfalls ?

    Those 1 euro houses have lots of conditions in place and you end up spend $100k+. You have 2-3 years to renovate the house and all the renovations need to be done by "local locals" and you're not allowed to flip the house or rent it out, they want you to commit to living there foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :oops:

    Moving from London to Sicily would be an improvement and Sicily is a massive ****hole surprised the Mafia hasn't paid him a visit yet :p

    I have given serious thought to this, but at the end of the day Italian bureaucracy and the maintenance issues of a European winter make it unviable compared to just renting a place for 6 months of the year (based on a small but nice flat, no garage, in centro storico Treviso (reg. Veneto).
