True. But with those massive straights, there is going to be a lot of downforce generated at very high speed. It’s now or never for Merc. They are at risk of falling behind McLaren at this rate. Meanwhile… Ferrari and RB should have a great battle! My money would be on RB especially as their hyper drive DRS seems so much more powerful than anybody else’s. And Max makes less mistakes than Leclerc.
True. Ferrari with a new engine and a few updates, I wouldn't count them out. I do think Max makes fewer mistakes as well, and we don't have a clear picture of how successful Red Bull upgrades where in imola due to the different weather. Next couple of races should be quite interesting for the championship as we'll know how fast the Ferrari and Red Bull will be.
Never seen this before. Interesting pick of the many elements of the rear suspension. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mercedes still in "trial and error" mode with porpoising F1 updates Mercedes says it is still in "trial and error" mode with its Formula 1 car updates, as it continues efforts to find a cure for its porpoising problems. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/mercedes-still-in-trial-and-error-mode-on-porpoising-f1-updates/10295468/ “Unfortunately, with no testing, every race weekend is a little bit of a live experiment. “You can't replicate the bouncing that we see on track in the windtunnel. And therefore, it's like in the old days, it's a little bit of trial and error, what does it actually do in real life? “Therefore we are looking at a few directions where we believe they could help us to solve the problem long term without losing the goodness of the downforce by just lifting it up or patching the floor. “There will be tweaks on the car this weekend where we think we can get a direction. But the performance of the car, we won't unlock it from one weekend to the other.”
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/f1-drivers-say-fake-marina-corner-is-key-to-miami-track/10296480/ F1 drivers say 'fake marina' corner is key to Miami track Formula 1 drivers have picked out Turn 7, the location of the controversial fake marina, as one of the critical areas of the new Miami Grand Prix track. Image Unavailable, Please Login By: Adam Cooper May 6, 2022, 7:27 AM Image Unavailable, Please Login The corner is a tightening left-hander that leads into the sharp-left Turn 8 and then onto a long straight that features a DRS zone. It is followed by a heavy braking area into Turn 11, which is expected to be a popular overtaking spot. After drivers tried the track in team simulators and walked it on arrival in Florida, the consensus was that it won’t be easy to get Turn 7 right, especially as the entry is blind. That in turn could help the following car close up and gain DRS activation on the exit of Turn 8, and then attempt a pass at Turn 11.
"So, the FIA are clamping down on this rule and it’s now part of scrutineering in F1. Reasons noted/elaborated as to why the RD thinks it essential. However, might this become a stand off? Could Lewis refuse to remove his jewellery and if so, will he be allowed to drive?" Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I love the pics. Thank you very much. My employer used to be a primary sponsor for various NASCAR teams throughout the years, and occasionally I would be able to secure pit credentials. As soon as the garage opened up on Friday, I would spend all day walking around, and taking pictures. I tried not to get in the way. I would enjoy that more than the race itself. And this was best done Friday or at worse Saturday. On Sunday, there would be too many people like me in the garage.
Scuderia Ferrari FRA on Twitter: " Magnifique chapeau pour ce fan de la Ferrari F1-75 à Miami ! https://t.co/QGklIEy5n4" / Twitter Ok which one of you lot is at the track wearing a Ferrari SF75 on their head?
